Thank you sir.

Got curious. Just Googled it. 1 fathom is 1.829 meters. So 164.042 fathoms. Doesnt roll off the tongue as well as fifty fathoms (even, fifty five fathoms for the 100m variant).

yea a bit harsh, but their comments are the same story over and over. ugh watch is too big, it shouldnt have a date or why doesn't the wheel match the dial, its not a true dress watch unless its 36mm or smaller.

but then again i do find 45mm is on the big side....

yes, I think a lot of people share those opinions (myself included)—I’m still not seeing what’s “smarmy” about that...

do you really love off-color date windows and 42mm dress watches or is it just a matter of being annoyed by whatever is written on hodinkee?

Apologies if you are offended by a worthless schmucks opinion.

And yes I die a little inside seeing the 5711 white date wheel.

If this is it and there's no fauxtina, count me in. If it's anything different, I'll save some money.

I expect just about everything to have fauxtina these days, but here's hoping they skip it.

Sooooooo true. It’s a balance btw sell out in a minute, and -40 after the flippers are done

No way 42mm FF. This is a money grab, they have the 40mm cases, so tweak dial and cash in

Any indication on the time of day they’ll release info/allow orders?

If you sign up to be notified on Hodinkee you’ll receive an email the day prior with details on the time. It’s usually a 7 a.m. drop so be sure to refresh on the dot to increase your chances.

Agree with this. Can't just throw around 10k or so on a whim...at least I can't :-)

If it’s a FF it could be as high as 13-14k! 10k is the healthy discount price I’m accustomed to but no discount from hodinkee :(

Basically the original 50 fathoms. I decided not to get the barakuda and they announced this mmm...
So, I think it's either the above, OR a faithful homage to the Polish Navy "no radiation" FFs, which would of course be slightly different than what's mentioned above - including the date, "no radiation" dial, correct bezel font, etc. Remember, when Blancpain did the "no radiation" dial re-release, it was in a 45mm case, with all of the modern things - sapphire bezel, "Blancpain" on the side, etc - and it still was a huge hit.

If they do this right, I will be a buyer.

I think Blancpain will reserve a No Rads in 40mm for their own release, probably two years from now.

I'd like that. That's $14k I wouldn't have to spend on Wed.

FYI, it looks like there is a NATO strap involved in their Instagram story photo.

Too late for me to block off mine. But at 9:55 I may just yell out “I gotta take a sh*t!!” and run to the bathroom.
