Need some JLC advice for a friend
A friend of mine has had this JLC chronograph for the last 4 years.
It was purchased from Liljenquist & Beckstead, a JLC AD in Virginia. I believe it had gone back to JLC 3 times for service in the last 4 years. Obviously for months at a time and it has broken again. He's obviously very frustrated and I told him to bypass the the AD completely and try to find someone higher up at JLC to try and get a resolution. He doesn't have anything negative to say about the AD, but I think he should ask for a refund. Not sure how they will feel about refunding a 4 year old watch, but it's obviously a lemon and at this point sending it back for another service seems ridiculous. Anyone have any insight or advice? Don't have any experience with JLC as a brand or their service.

I highly doubt JLC will refund your friend's money but they will try to make it right, even if it takes a while. JLC makes great watches but their stateside service center leaves a lot to be desired. I would suggest you have him insist that they send it back to Switzerland, as that was what finally remedied my issues with my JLC.

I have this same watch for over four years now and I never had any problems with it. It's has the JLC in-hour movement with 65 hours of power reserve. It's pretty reliable and robust movement.
For your friend, I agree that he should send the watch back to Switzerland. |
