Mid-century modern watches
I’m a big fan of mid century design, from Eames chairs to textiles with atoms, surfboards, & boomerangs.
What watches fit with that design aesthetic? I think on one hand, you have over the top examples like a Hamilton Ventura. But I also think there’s an argument to be made for a “clean” simple round watch like a JLC master — although maybe that’s just a timeless classic design. |

I’ve tried to figure this out myself too. This is adjacent to the question I think http://www.ivy-style.com/simple-and-...day-watch.html

A Patek 3445 with a sunburst dial and cutting edge features like winding rotor and date window overlaps quite a lot.
https://shop.hodinkee.com/blogs/jour...reference-3445 What’s interesting to me about the time period is watches seemed to jump from 30-40s styles right to strong 60s design elements - and skipped any discernible 50s designs |
