I just received the email. If it's a 40-42mm Fifthy Fathoms, black dial, no date, etc . . . it will generate a lot of traffic and fireworks!

We will find out the 17th.
To be honest, I am not impressed with the previous exclusive editions made by watch manufactures in collaboration with Hodinkee. |

I’ve had mixed feelings; some I agree on but a few have been great. the laurent ferrier and the zenith were both awesome I think. |

I am guessing it will be a bathyscaphe. If its a no date FF in 40mm I am ordering on sight. Take my money.
It is going to have to be really nice because a blancpain at msrp is the kind of thing that requires a few drinks before pulling the trigger!

Whatever it is I'm sure I'll love it and won't be able to afford it.

I'm also looking forward to it, but don't quite get the level of excitement here. It's not like there haven't been a few cool LEs of the FF in 40mm already. What we really need is a 40-42mm regular production FF.

We'll see what Hodinkee do here. For what it's worth, I think this will be in their wheelhouse and I think they'll do it proper service.

It’s pretty insane that blancpain has the foundation for one of the few viable Rolex sports alternatives (at least on some small scale) and it’s doing such a poor job of putting what seems like their best foot forward would be?

To be fair Rolex has squandered the sub a bit in my opinion with the maxicase and what they’ve done to the seadweller for me is less than ideal.

Is the modern FF still rated for just fifty fathoms? Or 55? 110? 165?

I’m sticking with my spot in line on the Barakuda. IMO the MILSPEC and Barakuda were both executed near perfectly and I don’t think Hodinkee could do any better for me. We shall see and I hope it’s a stunner. But Barakuda for me all day...

What's your thoughts on limited editions? I like them and have the limited edition 2018 Bathyscape Date Just 70.

1 fathom = 6 feet so 167.667 for the modern 5015

I'm curious to know too, I've found their LE's to be a mixed bag. Unlikely they're going to engineer a whole new case size, but I'm guessing a 40MM FF with printed rather than applied 12-3-6-9 and no date....

It has to be a FF, somehow retro look, on a strap, IMHO.
I am very curious of what would it be. Just hoping they will do enough so that it doesn’t sell out in 5 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
