320...The Ultimate PAM

After seeing a few different 320 posts here recently, I thought I would give my thoughts. In my opinion the 320 is the best value PAM out there. Think about it:

1. 50's case
2. Sandwich dial
3. Brushed case...eliminates a lot of the swirls that come with polished case.
4. GMT
5. Panerai in house movement
6. Crystal Caseback
7. Visible 72 hr. power reserve indicator in back

All this for around 7k......In my opinion, you cant get any better for the price!!

I am expecting mine early next week courtesy of Oscar "bodybump" T.

Congratulations and I'm sure that you'll enjoy the 320 on its arrival. Widening out your post I would say that the 320, 312, and 321 seem to be some of the watches of the moment for the reasons that you highlight. They seem to have hit a sweet spot at the entry point of the Manifattura line. I tried on all three recently and it really comes down to personal preference as to which one is the best but they seem to have all bases covered.

Looks wise they seem to embody the Panerai "DNA" and I'm sure will be great watches for years to come. But then I would say all of this being a 312 wearer ;-)

Congrats! However, I like the 312 better, but then I'm biased I'd go for the 233 or 88 if I needed the GMT function

I'm biased as well, but certainly love the 320.

Very valid points and another added bonus of the 320 is that it comes with a brown OEM gator. No question its a great buy.

However,I prefer all polished cases.Much easier to polish and keep looking like new and the ultimate value PAMs remain the 111/112/000/005,IMO.

I like the watch but dislike the GMT hand with no indicator.

ITs actually a 12 hr GMT unlike most other PAM's, that is what I like the best about it, you get simplistic functionality!! Some other GMT PAM's are way too busy for my taste!!

12 hour GMT makes little sense to me but I do understand the cluttering since I gave my dad my 88 worn once for x mas. I just prefer the 233 or 289 of which i like the symmetry, my 270 sits in the box I do not prefer the 9 the balance is odd to me. It may be different if I did not have the other watches but I can understand the affinity and if it sings perfect. I just got the 193 depth gauge which most would likely shun but hey it worked for me so who cares that my pool is the extent of my diving i like it.

It is a beautiful watch no doubt, but the 12 hour GMT hand is not for me. My GMT's have to be 24 hours.

I tend to agree with you about the 320. True it's only a 12 hr. GMT and as such gives up a bit of versatility, but I like the added complication.

Secondly, in addition to what you've already mentioned the zero seconds feature is nice. I wonder why Panerai didn't include it on the 312?

The fact that you can hide the fourth hand gives the watch a clean look.

It's probably going to be my next Pam.

Definitely!! Mine should be here on Tuesday so I am chomping at the bit!! I have been hooked on it from the minute I first seen it. I purchased my 312 and thought what a great watch what if they made this with a GMT and wham I discovered 320!!

As soon as she lands I will post pics!! I am contemplating driving to the airport and wait for the fed ex plane to land!!

Yes,the 24h GMT function on the 242. Whats nice on my 289 is that the 24h hand can be hidden behind the 12h hand, for a cleaner looking dial.Thats what I usually do on the 289.

I have to say guys... I love no cyclops... Don't get me wrong. I have several with cyclops and I love them a lot....

One reason I love the Sea-Dweller and go back to it over and over - no Cyclops. Just like the 320.

Major Congrats. I think it will look awesome. Enjoy!
