If you had the chance to buy any SS Rolex at Retail right now, which would it be?

I've potentially got the chance to do as the title says...

I have always loved dive pieces. The Sub was my grail until the SD43 came out. That said, I still lean Sub as this would be my first and only for a few years.

Do you feel that "only" getting an SS Sub would be a waste of such a chance when you could get a DaytonaC or SD43 etc.?

Most here would advise you to get the watch you like, not the watch you think will be worth the most down the line - particularly if it will be your only watch for awhile. I am not a lover of the six digit ceramic sports models, but I would likely go with a Sub LN date. My second choice would probably be the discontinued BLNR or LN GMT on the oyster and I would have the PCLs brushed.

Of the items you listed, I already have 2 of them. So for me I would go Daytona C in white preferably.

I’ve got both Daytona’s ceramic in black and white. As I already have them my choice would next be the Hulk.

I already have a Daytona, albeit a stainless bezel, but I choose BLRO/BLNR, to me, the GMT are a much better daily watch, easier to read and a less fussy dial, also wears slightly larger. The Sub coming a close second, for the same reasons, LVc is stunning.

Having said all of that, the Daytona is a fantastic watch.

Daytona in the lead purely from market hype. People convince themselves to love it because it's "unobtainable", it cures the human body of their desire to lust after something.

I voted "other," as I have no interest in any more ss Rolexes.

This is an interesting point. How many less people would truly be after the Daytona if it wasn't "The Daytona"...

Let me get this straight:

*Question*: If you had the chance to buy any Stainless Steel Rolex at Retail, which would it be?
*Answer*: Patek Phillipe 5712.

I think the question should have specified "if you didn't have any of these already" just because the results are basically useless without knowing if somebody chose X only because they already have Y.

Anyway, Daytona for me even though I already have it.

I should have written it in the post but the title is using all the characters it allows and few people read posts.

Though isn't it a little bit "Goes without saying" IMO but...

BLRO without a doubt, to wear and enjoy. Can't read the tiny chrono subdials of the Daytona and I've found the Speedy Racing 44 to be the perfect chrono for what I value, a usable and aestethically pleasing chrono with solid heritage and next gen movement.

At retail I wouldn't get anything else than the BLRO. With a discount I could consider a DJ41. That's about it, I already have what I like (YM40, SD43).

I’m with you 100% —

And the next Rolex to get added to the collection is probably an Air King.

I'm not his attorney but the last option is "Other". You probably meant other Rolex, but he chose a reference that is also hard to get from a different brand.
