Birth Year Datejust

I am in the market for a 1993 16233 Datejust but there are no papers or box to back up a piece I am interested in. Is pinning down the piece to the exact production year possible on the Datejust without documentation? Are there any tells on watch itself for the 1993 model? Thanks!

You can use reference charts, like the one linked below, to get a ball park idea of the year of production. Since Rolex has never released or acknowledged these charts, they cannot be held at 100%; although the individuals who have compiled the charts have spent years tweaking them.

Personally, I'd hold off for one at least with papers. Good Luck on your hunt!!
