I'm more and more tempted each day. Even considering if I should let go of the SubC and DayC for this one. Tough call

I'm definitely an AC fan, I owned the original 5035R for 15 years, and last year sold it to upgrade to a newer, larger model. I considered the 5146 and 5205.

I like the 5146, it's really nice package of size and features...but somehow I always felt it looked "upside down" with the Patek name appearing on the bottom half versus the traditional top half (replaced instead with the somewhat less visually emphatic power reserve indicator). Maybe it's just me (and I'll concede, it probably is), but I was never able to overcome that sense of the 5146 looking upside-down every time I see it.

So instead, I ended up getting the 5205R-001 (rose gold with opaline white dial), which I really like a lot (I would post a picture of my 5205R here but I haven't yet accumulated the necessary number of posts allowing me to do so!)

Either way, I can certainly appreciate the enthusiasm for the 5146, it is admittedly a great watch and a great package of features.

I don't know if you know but the yellow gold is cheaper. For me it was a choice between rose gold as I really wanted a 'gold' watch and the white gold. The rg is fantastic but for me the white just pipped it in terms of versatility and discretion

I've got it on a grey step right now which I think works quite well. What do you think?

I think it looks great. Am purchasing a 5146G with the slate dial but it comes with a brown strap, so I am hoping to swap it out for the gray. I think the gray looks great with the slate dial too.

Hello to my fellow 5146 owners! Anyone here who has tried dressing it down more casual than a leather strap (like rubber)..? I am often wearing a t-shirt or sweater and I find the leather strap too “formal”.

My model is the 5146G (white good) by the way

5146G in my view is one of the watch that is easy to dress down.

I don’t know about rubber... but I would pair a 5146 with a more casual leather strap, like unlined calf or shell.
