Icon5 Clasp, Sides, Bezel, Crystal Clear Film Protectors

I know some people are obsessed with scratches on their timepieces.. has anyone tried the film protectors they sell on eBay (item 173836282689 for example)..? Not entirely convinced they're unnoticeable, but might be a good idea to put on after a service to protect the material in good shape for an eventual resale... It would be interesting to hear some thoughts.

Pure silliness in my opinion. It’s a watch, wear it don’t let it wear you.

If you want to preserve freshness after service there is clingfilm (I believe in the US it's called 'Saran Wrap').
Painstakingly sticking bits of plastic on my watch.. No I'm not doing that. Knock yourself out though.

If I ever seriously thought of that as an option, I just wouldn’t wear my watch anymore

Was it not someone off here that set up selling those things?

I seem to recall someone here saying they were going to do it, despite the general lack of support.

Nothing seems to bring more over the top negative replies than this subject. It's your watch, do as you please with it.

Someone recently posted pictures of their entire watch covered in those stickers.

He claimed that you could barely see them, but they were obvious in his pictures.

The worst parts being the edges where dirt and grime was already accumulating.

My favorite is the terrycloth wrist band over the watch......and it’s good for theft prevention

Thanks for the opinions of those who understood my question! Not a single vote of approval, this says a lot. I am not sure why the others assumed I'd be necessarily putting this on my watches...?
