I was told by my collector friends that the HongKong dealers and collectors are sick of the "Americans" and "Europeans" marking up prices. They all agreed to not buy any at the latest dealer show last week and so the rumors have started making the rounds. Seems like anti-trust to me but hey its Asia

this is idiotic. There are no governments intervening in the secondary watch market. There are no trade wars among capitalists unencumbered by politics. Most all dealers ship worldwide overnight. Dealer to dealer is no different.

Tom, In 2017 the Chinese government clamped down on luxury watches primarily because they were used as bribes. I don’t know how much of it was documented but it became taboo for Chinese officials to be seen wearing any sort of luxury watch in public...and correspondingly there was a pullback

Summer time plus HK situation I would imagine. Things will take off again once the ADs get their last shipments of the year.

AD’s all received solid shipments over last 3-4 weeks of both Nautilus and Aquanaut. So a spike in supply and that got people’s attention as it should with these trading at fool’s levels.

It was earlier, wasn't it? And because the economy and consumption slowed on the back of it the Govt relaxed this law in around 17 and that was one of the key demand drivers of this new world, post Brexit.

I am not sure if there is a correction in Nautilus pricing but I did noticed suddenly a rush of pieces in preown dealers offerings, which means existing owners are putting out pieces for sale. Either to catch the current peak price or they are worried a correction is coming soon.

Originally they used to have a sweet filling in half the pasty so you/the miners got it all in one, sounds like a great idea... Gotta admit when my carbs embargo ends I am going straight to Greggs! Then Fish and Chips and a Lamb biryani, gonna be a big day

Sounds like a plan!

Any recommendations for a good curry Neil? Was planning to go to Gymkhana, but it’s unfortunately closed at the moment. Thinking of trying Jamavar, but haven’t been there before.

They are all indeed "spoken for", but exactly who will get what is apparently still in flux. I gave my wishlist :)
