Wedding ring matching

Maybe I'm being a bit anal here, but thinking of buying a TT gun metal / rose gold tungsten ring($20 from amazon) to match the days I wear a rose gold watch. I realize you don't have to match your wedding ring to watch, but honestly I can't get over the look of a white gold ring with rose gold watch. It bothers me internally. Am I being too anal about it?

If it bothers you get one. No biggie. Either way. Anything works these days.

You’re bound to get a variety of answers to this one. Sadly, the “anything goes” replies will most likely be most common, as that seems to be the standard mantra these days.

Knowing nothing of you and your spouse, your marriage, your vows or your faith, it is certainly difficult to advise.

Speaking for myself, I have only one wife and only one wedding band; the ring my lovely wife put on my finger during our wedding. Wearing another ring and calling it my wedding band would not make it so.

I have 4 of those Tungsten watches in different finishes/colors/etc. They are great, cheap and if I lose it, oh well! My original stays at home most of the time and rock these all the time. I just actually got a RG one for an incoming and had the same thought as you. So yeah, go for it.

I agree totally with this.

As far as I'm concerned, if something doesn't match my wedding ring, then it is that "something" that is wrong, not the wedding band. If it bothered me that much, I would change my watch.

Now, that is just me, just my opinion, no right answer.

I wear a Groove Life rubber ring these days and don’t worry about being matchy matchy. Google what happened to Jimmy Fallon’s finger and you’ll see why.

I had both my wife's and my ring made from the same gold ounce krugerrand. The color of my ring is really unique because the is also paladium mixed in.

It tends to clash with my SS sub, but that never bothered me. One day we came across a meteorite ring that was a white metal. The history the ring has being a meteorite and the way it looks with my watch is awesome.

I don't wear it often even when wearing the sub, but it is pretty cool to pull out every now and then.

I also agree with the above. My wife, my life partner and my love placed this ring on my finger the day we wed. I will wear it at all times until I take my last breath. And then the kids can sell it for scrape........

Do whatever pleases you, just my two cents.

I match my rings, belts and accessories. I am sick...Two tone for two tone. Wife is cool with it, in fact she bought me most of the bands. Only one I bought was a cheapy SS band to wear with SS watches. LOL, funny thing I wear that 12$ band most of the time.

Do what makes you happy.

But since almost nobody notices or cares what jewelry you wear it's only relevant to you.

I remember when brown shoes were never worn with a blue suit, white was not worn after Labor Day and all watches were dress watches.

That's the one BIG problem with these Tungsten rings, you cannot cut them. If something were to happen, it's likely your finger is f'd. But I have to imagine that an incident like that would have to be pretty freakish for that to happen.

Go for it. My personal views seem to be different than the others. To me and my wife, it's not the ring but the idea. We each have several rings we wear as wedding rings; to be honest, I very rarely wear one and it doesn't affect her at all.

Exactly

I wear the ring my wife gave me, I do not care what fashion faux pas this commits

I only have a very plain gold wedding ring. I knew it would be knocked around quite a bit and wouldn't be coming off so simplicity was key. If my watch happens to match it's just a happy coincidence otherwise I'm comfortable knowing that absolutely no one is checking.

There's nothing new or unusual about having more than one wedding ring. My mom had the traditional wedding set back in the 40's. She also had what she called a "scrubbing" ring to wear when working around the house ect. This was a very thick gold band. In addition to our traditional wedding rings, the wife and I have matching SS wedding bands. It's not about the wedding (ring), it's about the marriage.

The ring I was married with no longer fits. I’ve lost a lot of weight and it’s to big. It is two tone. It couldn’t be made as small as I needed. Since then it’s been a platinum ring.

Been married over 20 years, never worn a ring. I was brought up to believe men shouldn’t wear jewellery. I can’t seem to shake that view. Bizarre.

I don't even notice my wedding band anymore - I don't think it clashes with any watch to be honest, as they are totally different things. I would be bothered if it clashed with something else just like some wristband (which I don't use).

I’m not sure why one needs to match the ring...

Completely agree! For me, there is no other answer than this. Your spouse takes priority over a watch.

When we married my wife got the fancy rings and I got a tungsten ring from Amazon. It looked great and held up amazingly well to the rigors of life, until I lost it a couple years later. We replaced it with a palladium ring that matches my wife's engagement ring and bands. She also upgraded her engagement ring setting while keeping the same stone. We did keep her wedding ring untouched. Now we are matchy-matchy.

In all honesty, for us the rings are just rings, the wedding certificate is a piece of paper, and our love and commitment are forever.

IMHO a wedding ring is the one piece of jewery exempt from ever having to match anything.

Or just don't wear a wedding ring. I only wore mine on my wedding day, same as my father and grandfather.
