I think some stock photos or links would help.

The questions You should be asking yourself
✓ G Shock Frogman or Non Frogman ? ✓ If Non Frogman, remember you cannot operated the buttons underwater ✓ Desirability ? I know you're thinking about the 7900, aren't you? Yup. It's a handsome G Shock, my desk diver friend has 0ne. If you're serious about recreational swimming, always go with the positive display not negative ✓ Is it practical ? I always felt analog watches with rotating diver's bezel worked best because it's really difficult to press the G shock digital buttons underwater with gloves.Take Seiko's diving watches out of the equation and I really fancy the Citizen Promaster 1000 " The Kraken " Pro Diver Megan's G shock recommendations # Bronze prize goes to the GW6900 ( With the composite bracelet+ Bull Bars it's even better ) Of course it's very subjective, but the photos below show US Navy Divers actually wearing the DW6600/DW6900 # Silver medal goes to GR8900 with the positive display # The Gold Medal goes to the Undisputed G Shock Diver Champion --> The Frogman |

For swimming in the pool, any of them will do.
if you need tide information, dual chrono, sunrise sunset time, then go with the one with specific function. otherwise, pick the price, color and style you want, they all will survive a dip in the pool, and may be more :D G/GW6900 is quite nice, no need to worry about battery change, bold numerals that's easy to read, and you can put 2nd time zone on current time so you have a GMT watch. Also Casio just re-released the DW5750, basically battery powered G-Shock but a great throw back to vintage DW5700 model If you prefer analog digital, try the new GA800 series. They have running second hand, and also one-touch start of chronograph from current time mode, so you don't have to change mode before you start the chrono.

What about the GW-5000-1JF? I've had my eye on that one for awhile now. Solar, atomic, JDM ... lots to love.

Oooo..That's so Sweet. Seriously Syed, you'll need a G Shock in your Life! For just a second there, I thought I was staring at the wrist shot of the Pilot and Captain of a US Commercial Airliner

They’re all cool and there are so many various styles that everyone can find one (or many) that they like.
Personally I love the classic 6900 design. This is my hard duty watch: |

Here's my travel watch (6900ms-1). It has been with me all around the world while doing everything from hiking volcanoes to ziplining to bobsledding to snorkeling. It will have no issues keeping up with any daily task:
