Limited Edition of 50. Not bad for a guy who can’t get the pieces he wants!

I have always thought the skulls hide the tourbillon too much.......they do look very cool though.

The coolest skull IMO will always be this one, love the skeleton case.
Really too bad they don’t make any without the tourb, you barely see it and it just adds a few hundred K to the price. The same but without the tourb and for around 100k would be much better.

There are a few for sale on Chrono24, it’s a lovely piece, I really like it, I would consider it if it wasn’t so expensive, due to my limited finances I am only considering the 035-01 or the 055, the Black Toro is basically 40k more than these 2 models, but really cool piece

Same here, prefer the old ones, these 2 are my favorite, with the ti in first place

Wow I love that one; though I wish it had the diamond baguette teeth like the others.

Not a fan of some of the higher end RMs admittedly.

Though I do lust for a Ti RM029... maybe one day.

Oh now that will be interesting, you don’t strike me as a guy who gets 5711 or 5167, I would imagine more 5370 or 5270, am I close ?

I am hesitating between a 035-01 or a 035 black toro which one do you prefer?

Also hesitating between the 055 all grey, or the Asia LE black and white. Which do you prefer for these 2 models?

The black toro is one of, if not the best RM I have owned.

As you know I have had quite a few. If that is in your cards, I would 100% do that.

IMO, the 55 wears too small both in height and case width. Out of all of the 55s, I do prefer the grey the most, but I won't be buying another based on size alone.

The 35-01 is classic and perfect. You can't go wrong there, but the Toro is on another level. You are on the right track. The Toro will cost you 30-70k more thouh over the 35-01. The prices on the 35-01 have seriously firmed up. They are crazy.

Thanks John, so I see for you from these 4 the toro is clearly the best. Of course if I go with the toro, it will probably take more time for me to get it, but I did wait 14 months for my KV, so if ever I get it not in 2018 but 2019, I won’t have a heart attack over it, it’s not like if I didn’t have ANY watch to wear during the transition

I'll be honest man- just save up and see what happens.

By the time 2019 comes, there may be an even better piece.

Also, who knows what will happen to the market- we can all (mostly) agree that is can't last forever ;)

Just get yourself prepared and then we can make some decisions. I will promise you that it will be the best decision you will make.

Arnaud- I am obsessed with the 35-01. From the moment I tried it on I knew it was special. Any RM is special but the 35s and the 11s really get me going. Hope you stick around and keep posting regularly my friend

John- keep up the good work man. Appreciate all your posts as you give great perspective on grail pieces mate

Thanks John, appreciate the advice as you do have a certain experience with RM, way more than any of us here

Thanks Tom. While the 011-03 is very nice, saw the ti 011-02 a few years back, and Archer’s 011-03 NTPT, awesome watch but too bulky IMO, whereas the 035-01 was perfect, no question, so I think the goal from now on will be the black toro.
Thanks guys

I agree 035 is a better fit than 011. I owned 011 in the past and now just got mine 035-01 2 months ago. I like the 035-01 better coz of the size and the weight. I also enjoy winding it every morning, very smooth.

Regarding the RM market, because the brand got popular among mainland Chinese all in a sudden (started in 2H2017), the price tag become even more ridiculous. I knew I overpaid my brand new 035-01 2 months ago, but now after just 2 months of my purchase, the price for 035-01 has gone pass the price I paid in HK, about 5% more... one thing to keep in mind is the hype can come and go quickly. whenever mainlanders are tired of the brand, the price will revert back to a reasonable level, for example, expecting 10 to 20% discount in the grey mkt. Hopefully by the time you are ready for the black toro, the hype is gone.

Well there are 2 ways of looking at this, eithef the hype will slow down and so will prices, either RM is going to limit supply on their most popular models, 011, 035 and 055, in that case it will do as PP 5711/12 and continue to raise prices.
But in any case I won’t be able to buy before 1 year, too much money invested in different projects to even consider getting a new watch.
When I am ready to buy I will go where I can try the two 055’s and the two 035’s, even if I tried the 035-01. On looks I like as much the Black Toro, 055 all grey and Asia black and white edition.
Would be great if I prefer the 055’s, as they are cheaper than 035-01, and way cheaper than Black Toro, but prices won’t be the determining factor, not for a watch of that level.
My son is still young but in about 10 years he will start getting a few of my watches, having only 3, Voutilainen, RM and a 5712 would be great for me, for these 3 he’d have to take them from my cold dead hands
