Official Blue Dial thread (pics)

Hi all

I think there are many of us fellow watch enthusiasts that love a blue dial. So I thought I would start this thread and I will kick things off sharing my Breitling Colt Automatic II.

Lets see your lovely blue dials please!

Hopefully this will help future blue dial buyers.

Nice! My first mechanical watch was a Breitling Colt.

I know this is the non-Rolex forum, but my only blue watch is a Rolex, so here it is...

Very nice Dave! I find the blue sunburst dials the most appealing.

Wow now that's an impressive blue dial display, only missing 2 to be perfect, FPJ CB and a blue nautilus, which one you want don't matter the model, you can update your post in a month when you have them

Thx. Love the CB blue dial, not fond of the white hands so will probably not ever go there. New CS incoming though . . .

Blue Nautilus ok but not overwhelmed when I tried one on . . . dial is killer though, love that hue . . .

That is quite a selection there! Which ones do you still have if you don't mind me asking?

I really love that Lange

Thx. Right now the only ones that have survived the scrutiny are the Rolex YM and the IWC Ingenieur. I miss the FF blue immensely but it just wore a little too large. I love the 1815 Lange line too . . .

Too bad I prefer your AP, Lange and FF most of all the ones you had, please don't take it the wrong way as I don't mean it like that, but you don't feel you downgraded from ALS and AP to Rolex and IWC? Fine watches but nowhere near, at least IMO, to the first 2 which are for me at the top of the horological food chain, it was financially induced, technically (better WR for example) or because of taste? Would be interested to know as I would have not made those choices, but I get that if you swim everyday or do some kind of sport that the 2 I prefer are not the best ones for the job, far from it, did you see the blue dial FF with YM style bezel and rubber metal bracelet? Can't post a pic but if you go on chrono24 and type BP FF it's the first one, prefer the one you had by a mile though, this one is smaller, 40mm, first time I see it, just wanted to check out the ones like you had and saw it

It's all subjective as I believe you will agree. It is definitely my individual/personal aesthetic taste. I've sampled roughly a hundred watches ranging from micro brands to the established big boys like PP, AP, BP, Lange, JLC, etc, etc and so forth. Dunno what it is but if I like the look of a watch, it stays as long as the interest is there. Brand/reputation/trinity stuff really not a priority in determination of what I keep.

Right now, along with the Rolex and IWC I have a Lange Moon Phase LE, the smaller(40 mm) BP FF LE, 3 JLC Reversos (2 LE), an ochs und junior Moon Phase, an Omega Seamaster LE, and a Patek 5196P. Looking to add a Journe and then maybe a Patek Gondolo, all the while trying to talk myself away from the beautiful new blue dialed GP Laureato out of this year's watch shows . . .

Beautiful blue dial, wish the hands were silver/white gold or something other than the cream. The CS will indeed be the new dialed model . . .

Its one of the reason's I didnt like that watch - the hands looked like they were made of plastic IMO.
