New/unworn may pop up for sale once in a blue moon. Mint condition is more easily attainable. Anticipate paying about $10k or so above retail in that condition.

Good luck. Let us know if you find one! Was looking for one about a year ago and couldn’t find one for less than about $12k.

Wanted it too, gave up bc I couldn't find it for under $12,500.

That's a tough one, you either need to pony up or move along.

What is the retail on this model?
Or is it only available to NASA employees?
Also, Is it that rare?
Other popular Speedmaster models like the Speedy Tuesday, 60th Anniversary, and CK2998 are already available in the gray market below MSRP.
What makes the snoopy so special?

The video should help. The watch is available to general public. The snoopy award only to people who worked for NASA or contributed.

CK2998 and Speedy tuesday Below MSRP? Where?

Thanks for the video suggestion.

Maybe I was misinformed and don’t know the msrp but I’ve seen CK2988s for under $6k. I thought msrp was $7200. Speedy Tuesday’s retail for the same I thought and I’ve seen them around the same price gray market. A 60th anniversary is for sale now on the forums for $6500. What’s its retail?

According to the video, the snoopy retails around $7k as well but goes for double that in the gray market.

I guess my point was why is the snoopy going for double what the other must-have Speedmasters retail for?

My guess on one of the few reasons why Snoopy was very sought-after:
1. It has a reproduction of NASA's Sterling Silver Snoopy pin as its caseback. NASA's version can be found googling "NASA Silver Snoopy".
Omega Silver Snoopy's caseback pictures are attached. I believe they are assembled by hand. Silver dusts are sprinkled by hand. Enamelled. And Ag925 on the Omega's version refers to Silver of 92.5% purity, which is Sterling Silver. To think of having all these in a $7k watch I think is unbelievable value.
2. Snoopy has that 'cartoon culture' vibe to it. So I believe the buyers and collectors of Snoopy Speedmaster goes beyond the regular Speedmaster/watch enthusiasts. Some Snoopy fans and cartoon collectors might also try to buy them too.
3. Why Snoopy is put there in the first place has also been an interesting story itself. After Apollo XIII, NASA gifted Omega with the Sterling Silver for the on-board Speedmaster's achievement in acting as the backup timer for the spaceship's broken timer. Thanks to this back-up, the astronauts returned home safely. NASA then saw Omega deserving the Silver Snoopy Award.

These were my readings I did before being convinced in buying the Snoopy Speedmaster. I did pay above retail couple of years ago (though prices still wasnt as high as they are today).
