Eterna Super Kontiki Milwatch

I have always liked military watches and this catch is a great one, a vintage 70s Eterna Super Kontiki issued to the Israel Defense forces (IDF) specifically, to the elite naval commando unit, Shayetet 13. They are tge really hard core operatives that are the equivalent of the US Navy Seals.

This particular tonneau shaped watch is fairly large at 41.5mm and the besel insert is quite thick so it can be turned even with gloves on. Overall, the condition is quite good for an almost 50 year old watch. I have used it for a week and still keeps accurate time.

Of course with any military watch, the issue marks engraved at the back is what differentiates it from the civilian model. In this watch, the engravings are in Hebrew except for the unique issue number and the "Y" symbol stands for IDF.

This very rare watch will be a welcome addition to my collection. Truly deserving.

Ni e catch, probably one of the cleanest I've seen... It's not a "y", it's a "צ" the IDF # is the one on the bottom, I had one stolen years ago and am still looking for replacement.... During my days In the early 90s we got Seiko..... The kuntiki was always the "old boys respect", enjoy it:) let me know if you ever want to get rid of it :)
