Got a Rolex GMT PCG for $6.5k

I was able to score this 1960 Rolex GMT 1675 PCG with tropical dial yesterday but it has flaws. The chapter ring dial i think has some moisture damage around the 9 to 12 o'clock area. The hands are wrong and the bezel is not period correct. The case has been polished. Despite its flaws, the watch has that really nice vintage character which i like. Besides, the price is quite reasonable don't u think?

$6k or 6500?

I’d venture up to 7300 all day long.

Yes sir. Lots of sun here so quite a number of tropical dialed watches can be found.

I'd got to 7340 USD just to beat your 7300 - all day long.

Amazing , I visit every year for about a month but I don’t really know where to look. I always end up at greenbelt etc and they have the ad’s plus a few second hand stores but nothing vintage or interesting.

You wont find them in the malls. Its actually a network of agents and dealers that find these vintage watches. They all have their list of regular clients which gets first crack before its offered to the open market. Send me a pm if you plan to go to manila. Lets hook up.

Sorry but those pictures I posted does not do justice to the watch which looks really cool in the metal.

Is the small 24 hour hand original? I always thought the tips were a little blunt than that

Good eye, the patina looks off - newer - doesn’t match the hour and minute hands.

The hour and minute hand is for sure changed as it is short. The small gmt hand is probably relumed. I’m guessing the dial is as well seeing the overall patina of the dial. Charming piece nonetheless.

Lots of character. Love it. I think it could use a bracelet though. For whatever reason, I just don’t like GMTs on anything other than a bracelet.

I love the look of that watch. Clearly it’s been worn and had some fantastic journeys in its lifetime. I’d buy it in a heartbeat and probably keep the leather strap. Enjoy it in the best of health OP!

Got me a vintage pepsi bezel that could be a good match with the watch.

Installed a spare faded pepsi insert on the GMT and a riveted bracelet. More eye catching don't you think?
