Need help to get this out...

Hey team,

I need to brush out this scratch somehow. It’s right on the edge of the clasp where the brushed finish and polished finish begins. Any tips on how to do this?

Thanks,

A

Not sure I see it, is it the horizontal scratch? If so, that’s silly to remove it’s a clasp, BUT besides sending it RSC, you can use 3M scotch (green) and brush lightly in the same direction.... YOU WONT GET THE SAME LOOK AS ROLEX...

But it will be a brushed finish. For the polished part, you need to get non abrasive polish, and a microfiber cloth and rub out where the scratch is, be careful as it will highly polish that area and again... WONT MATCH ROLEX FINISH.

Hope this helps.

My friend may buy this watch from me as I have the opportunity for something else but he asked I get out that scratch first.

I think it’s just the brushed part I need to fix. I can maybe tape off and run Scotch along the edge. Thoughts?

If he's a true friend through thick and thin then he'll buy it with a scratch and add more of his own.

Either way, your photo is too small to judge what's going on here.

Nope. Still small.

I can tell it's a Sub clasp.

So you just got a sub and now your "friend" is going to buy it if you get a "scratch" out. Then your signature shows other watches you don't own anymore because they are sold....

Son? Are you a flipper?

Not a big market flipping Datejusts. I have a sub yes but now have a chance to buy a Daytona so this can be sold to my buddy.

Thanks for your investigative work but pound sand.

A damp scotch-brite pad, the green side. Start light and then go harder. I have used it and it worked great. Tape anything you don't want to touch.

Have a link to the actual pad?

My advice is not to doctor a watch to sell it to a friend. Leave it as it is. If he does not like the scratch he can attend to its removal.

With how this thread is going so far, it might be easier to find a new friend.

Seriously, just leave it. It'll be fine.

I’m not too worried about it but he asked if I can bring back to perfect. His first. Not my first or last. I was offered a ND sub from my AD and said I can get him that but he wants the date.

He’s interested either way but was just seeing if I could get it out for him. It’s so small I doubt I could mess it up that much but maybe I could.

Front him the $200 for the scratch. If that breaks you and you cannot buy the alleged Daytona, then I am not sure what to say.

You went on a public forum, asked for input, them insulted those who provided it. Pound sand yourself.
