After Batgirl was released Explorer II is now the only Rolex steel tool watch GMT on oyster bracelet. Can’t beat that !

Why no love for the explorer 2 42mm

I saw in another thread that it’s better as a second watch rather than your first and I couldn’t agree more

I prefer the 5 digit.

The colour orange and fat stumpy hands on the dial just don’t do it for me.

Most underated piece in the Rolex line up. I wear mine 95% of the time and would sell may sub before I’d sell the polar. Was in my AD the other day (waiting for a SkyD) and they told me they are becoming more and more popular and harder to get.

Personally it’s low on my list. I just don’t like the bezel. You but a black ceramic bezel on it now we are talking!

This is what makes this reference a home run to me and many others. It may very well be the only Rolex available today that hasn’t been remade to today’s standards of a ceramic bezel and a precious metal model variant. This watch is still very much a tool watch some 60 years later without all the bells and whistles that the submariners, the Daytona’s, the GMT masters all have now

I love my 6 digit black dial. It pretty much is my everyday, and while I love my new SD43 my exp2 is just perfect to me. I love the super maxi dial and those phantom hands! The white looks a bit cartoonish if you ask me, but anyway I could never see myself selling it. I’d sell my GMT before it.

There’s plenty of love for it on my end. The white dial is killer and at 42mm, also hits a sweet spot for me!

Only problem for me is that it’s proving more difficult to obtain... I placed an order almost 4 months ago and haven’t seen it yet. Ive also noticed that there haven’t been many (AD sourced) incomings recently.

Anyone else noticed this?

They are ridiculously oversized. The 16570 was the perfect fit.

It’s all relative to the proportions of the wearer.

Have the 16570 in black. Added the 216570 polar and absolutely love it. So much so, I got the 216570 in black. Too much for one collection? Nah- the Exp 2 is great, all three are in the rotation.

Love it and have wanted one since seeing it in National Geographic ads 30 years ago! Unfortunately the lugs overhang my wrist in the 42mm size. If they ever go back to 40mm I will be first in line... to wait 2-4 years to own one.

I picked it up yesterday! Lucky indeed. I almost felt lucky enough to inquire about a Daytona for my next purchase but I knew that wouldn’t happen lmao

It's relative to what you want to see. People stating 42 is too big for a man is just absurd... Imo

Exactly, women wearing 40mm ceramics on their 5 inch wrists look fine to me

I have big hands and wrists. The Explorer 2 with the white dial has become my daily watch. I see the diver style Rolex everywhere. The white dial and fixed bezel set it apart and most people don't know it's a Rolex.

Something about that watch always struck me as "not premium" form some reason. Not sure what it is but I couldn't get past it. It's a great watch, don't get me wrong, but never sang to me when I saw it in-person.
