Divorce level watch

I'm looking for ideas for an end game watch. Aka divorce level watch!

Hahahaha just messing.

But yeah, I'm looking for suggestions and ideas for a grail of grails, for me. A watch that no other watch can stack to, which then rules them out of the list.

Size wise, nothing bigger than a Tudor Black Bay GMT. I have 7 inch wrists.

Am on a list for DJ36 flute bezel, oyster, but not putting any chances on getting a call anytime soon. Although with the economic shift, may well get a call earlier than expected.

Would be cool to enjoy the Rolex experience, but not absolute for me.

Have leaned heavily towards Sartory Billard SB05 with their insane level of customisation and it would be a 1 of 1 commission.

That would be looking at around 20k Euro. Not including customs and taxes.

So then that got me looking at ideas of other independents in that range.

Have previously considered the mainstream grails, but now they don't interest me that much. Plus with the hype, a under the radar one is a criteria.

Something that's pretty cool to look at and you can get lost in the craftsmanship

Legible! Yeah I know watches aren't necessary, but I like the idea of being able to tell the time when I need to know.

Some level of daily wear suitability- anything over 50m water resistance. 100m+ ideal just for peace of mind.

Self winding. Will consider hand wound.

The SB05 is hand wound and would be tantalum case with plate engravings, etc.

Been looking at the Czapek Antartique for a while
Parmigiani Tonda PF

Only recently come across Gronefeld (I know this enters the big boys territory) Deltaworks. But it's a beast. Don't know if I can pull off such heft. Unless anyone knows of a smaller case they do.

Garrick launched their S6 this week. Looks pretty cool too. But doesn't quite hit the mark.

Then instagram starts suggesting GOS Watches from Sweden and Benzinger watches.

Both formidable watches in their own right.

Any suggestions from the hive mind?

Dornblueth?

If you’re talking about an even higher price point, then I suggest Moritz Grossmann:

And if you’re thinking small batch production and handcrafted, Kudoke:

Bit of a rant but you’re sitting on the correct end of the bar for it.

How much time you got buddy?

For me the grail would be a 5970P or 5370P. I can afford neither.

My attained short term grail is the following

By your criteria…5740/1G…MBF EVO if you can accept the size (I can), I love Journe linesport but they are larger and not swimproof, I ordered the delta works then passed when they told me it was going to be several years…it just wasn’t exciting enough for me to wait that long and I have other watches to chase.

I think if you’re going to keep it under say 30k then the pf micro rotor, czapek, moser streamliner, with where the market is going you can consider an AP RO or ROO which is great because they kind of ran away price wise for a bit. Vacheron overseas is in play again no question.

I have the PF it’s really a beautiful piece. I’ve had it listed for awhile not because it’s not great but more because I am on a mission to own them all at some point.

The Holy Trinity ones would be super cool. But I currently don't have the purchase history (or any at all with the AD's), nor pockets that deep for them on the grey.

VC Overseas has been on my radar for a while. Nautilus 5740/1g would be in that grail of grails list.

1 mainstream piece to enjoy and also for flex at special occasions/ family gatherings.

1 indie piece for me to really enjoy.

I think the Gronefeld Deltaworks is around 40k. But yeah, multi year wait is insane.

The deltaworks was 50k EUR and years out. At 40 guaranteed I would have laid the 30%.

yeah, just under 50k.

May even be a nice surprise for my 40th. Which is a long way away since I'm not even half way there!

Something in the opening message tells me you’re looking for something that’s “not for everyone”. Check out Sarpaneva.

have been eyeing these up. But seems that they are nto taking orders or something going on.

Yes, am looking for something that's not for everyone. I mean, a nautilus, RO, Overseas would be super cool. But it'll be a long ass wait. If even that.

A gronefeld Deltaworks but slightly smaller case would be a dream.
Plus the Sartory Billard SB05

I'd be surprised if they didn't take orders - I met the team in May at a fair and they seemed very willing to sell watches. You'll have to contact them via phone or email. The prices are not too bad IMO for what you get.

Heard back from them and they're not taking any orders for the moment. Got some new models hoping to launch later this year.

Did spot the Laines with meteorite dial. That's pretty cool. Useless with water though.

Main reason with the water resistance is I want to be able tohave the watch as a daily wear and with lil ones, it's one less thing to worry about.

Currently SB05, although 50m water, the insane customisation wins me over for a 1 of 1 piece.

Overseas. Will have to try one on for size though.

Czapek
PF

A Gronefeld would be immense.

A piece that I can get lost with the craftsmanship of the dial and the movement (hence the Gronefeld)
