It’s here - my first GS the US exclusive SBGW279

Was fortunate enough to come across a gently used example of this reference with full kit and at a great price. The dial is really something else. I struggle to capture its beauty with my mediocre iPhone photography, but here are some photos I’ve taken in a variety of different lighting. Just a real beauty.

Thanks guys, I'm excited about this one. I'd had my eye on these manual-wind Grand Seikos for quite awhile now but never felt like I could find the right one for me. Some of them I found a little too bland with the very minimalist dial. This one I feel is a good pairing of the bare-bones dial with a very dynamic color. They balance each other, so to speak. I think I've found my dress watch.

Very nice OP. Really like the crown on that model and the solid feedback when winding. Enjoy!

Congrats!! It’s gorgeous watch. I’ve seen it at a local AD and that blue is something. The best blue I’ve seen on a watch.

Thanks again all. The way this thing catches the light and reflects the environment around it is really something!

The sbgw variants with different dials are all winners. The manual wind case wears very well on the wrist and the finishing is impeccable. GS is a master of dials and I always look forward to what they come up with next. Congrats on a beautiful watch.

Beautiful watch! Has anyone compared this dial to the SBGW259? They appear from pictures to be very similar

Contemplating trying to source an OEM GS beads of rice bracelet for this bad boy. If anybody has any suggestions on a way to do that, please let me know.

Can order direct from GS but with a lengthy wait - they told me 6 months

Thanks, I think I’m likely just going to do a custom order premium strap for it and maybe add an OP or DJ 36 later for my small watch on a bracelet fix. This thing’s just too damn good on a strap. These things really are such a great size and with GS releasing more and more fantastic dial options it is an embarrassment of riches for watch peeps.
