Congrats, happy for you and glad you had a better experience in the next boutique. The black dial combination with the white gold logo looks immense.

We didn't have a boutique within a reasonable distance at the time, so I told them I would be willing to fly out if anything were to become available. I called every 3-4 months to chat and check in. On my third reach out, she was very abrupt and rude and told me that I wouldn't be able to get anything on my list (mostly ROOs and the black 15500) without "building a relationship" with her, which was a total 180 from our previous conversations, maybe she was having a bad day?

This April, wife and I took a day trip and walked past the AP boutique on our way to lunch. Decided to not pop in, but the wife pushed me while we were eating. Decided to go in, told them I was working with another boutique with a less than pleasurable experience. They suggested I switch to them instead and asked for my list. It was a night and day difference. He checked in with me frequently, and called me a few times to chat.

Ultimately it was complete chance, I honestly didn't even know the town had a boutique. Really shows that you have nothing to lose by going in and talking to people.

Thank you! Yes, it's black!
Wow 5 months super fast
Im nearly at 4 years and nothing

Definitely the new favorite in my collection, which makes me feel a tad bit guilty for my 116719.

No doubt that the black tapisserie dial is nicely complex and interesting for an AP compared to others out there with a black dial.
It's unlike any other black dial I've ever seen. In some light its almost flat, and in others, it has a ton of depth. It's pretty crazy and pictures do not do it justice.

This looks marvelous on you.
It definitely renewed my faith in the brand. I'm on the younger side and feel I'm often not taken serious or really considered. It will not be my only AP, that's for sure! Thank you!

Thank you, glad to have had the happy ... intermission? I can't say ending as it won't be my only AP their black dial has so much depth, so I can't blame you!

I got a call a few weeks later for a CODE (one that wasn't on my list) and passed on it. I scheduled an in person meeting a few weeks later to catch up and that's when the 180 occurred and was told basically the same thing you were. Right now trying to figure out the best boutique to switch to that makes sense for where I live and travel habits.
I wasn't even offered a CODE!! Wishing you the best luck. I think it's important to find a SA that you share interests with outside of watches. My SA and I spent 90% of our time talking about work, F1, etc.

The best part is I ended up taking backroads since they were around 10 minutes faster. Ended up driving through 3 state parks, and had no idea how gorgeous the drive was. I'll never take the freeway there again.

Thank you!

Congratulations, enjoy it.
I had only ever seen an AP in passing. I often frequent our redbar but it's typically Rolex. Last time was a bit unique with both an RM and FP making an appearance. Having one in hand... man, I'm blown away. Thank you!

Right! It's a patience game once you find someone you connect with.

Thank you, definitely glad the wife pressured me to pop in. I agree, it's such a gorgeous dial and I love the minimalistic look.

Definitely not the norm for sure... I hope something comes your way soon! I have a Rolex I've been waiting almost 4 years for.

Congrats! Looks fantastic.

Important for anyone to realize is that while it takes a short time for OP to get the watch, it probably took years to find the right AD and SA that could make that happen!

congrats! What a banger first piece!!
Wear it in good health and don't be overly concerned about the first scratch on the pristine finishing of a RO
