Datejust bezel option

I was looking at a 31 mm Datejust for my wife. I was wondering what you think about a jubilee braclet with a smooth bezel?

It's certainly a nice choice, but I prefer the smooth bezel with oyster and the fluted bezel with jubilee.

I love the combo. I changed the fluted bezel after I found this new domed one. It was expensive.

Jubilee with fluted, oyster with domed. Domed bezel looks perfect with oyster bracelet, but when I see a jubilee bracelet with a domed bezel, I always think it looks as though something is missing - and it is! Also, as it's for a woman, then definitely fluted.

The choice is yours but I've always preferred a fluted bezel on a Datejust. The smooth one sure looks good and especially with an Oyster bracelet but the fluted shines a bit more and give the watch a more original look in my opinion.

Fluted bezel for me regardless of the bracelet type. The reflection it puts off when the sun is shining is just amazing.

I just bought my first DJ, fluted with jubilee! Though I did think the DJ41 looked great with its polished bezel.

Is this a 31 mm? And it looks new, what year is this watch?

It's an M serial bought new in August of 07. 36mm 116233. I searched high and low to find the doomed bezel. The fluted was much to flashy for me.

One special thing about the Datejust line is the seemingly endless combinations. <Jubilee or Oyster or leather> with <Fluted or Smooth plus Engine Turned in the vintages> <with or without diamonds> <on the Serti dial or bezel>. Mix in the myriad of dials and diameter and you have a seriously large number of combinations - that are all highly recognizable as "Rolex Datejust".

It seems that Jubilee is more often than not outfitted with fluted bezels. Oyster bracelets seem to be split between smooth and fluted.

The all-SS DJ is only available with SS smooth bezel. When the SS DJ gets a fluted bezel it is only available in White Gold which really catches the light.

For TT DJ the YG bezel in either fluted or smooth should be your wife's preference. As mentioned above it can always be changed later if need be.

Having a fluted DJII, I gotta say I love the fluted bezel, but it shows finger smudges easily and isn't as easy to wipe or clean as a smooth bezel.

As my first Rolex, I went with SS, fluted, jubilee, Romans on rhodium, a true dress watch. For the examples seen on this thread, there is a seemingly endless variety of combos to suit even most average taste.

girlfriend has fluted jubilee and smooth oyster and I think they are both next to perfect. 116233 and 115200. I really prefer the jubilee with the fluted and the oyster with the smooth. Now if they would just release the super jubilee on the dj2 we would really be talking.
