The differences between various versions of 15202 - I vs J

So ...I guessed I read about it - but I ended up seeing first end the differences between early I series and a J series.

Got a 2014 15202 ... stopped working after 2 days unfortunately.
Bought in Japan - lafter quite a lot chat with the seller (Jack Road who in fairness was very good about it) they took the watch back and refunded as they could not figure out the issue.

This was a January 2014 stamped (probably manufactured in 2013) I series.
Basically it stopped every 2-3 hours ... attempted to do a whole 30 days of spinning, manual winding etc but still it would regularly stop.

As it turned out - in Nakano mall in Tokyo I found a 2017 J series for pretty much the same price (extra £300 which in the grand scheme is not too much)
This is a J series from 2017 - which actually comes now with warranty until 2022 ... is actually quite different.

I did not realize how many small changes between the 2.

The dial is actually quite different - with the tapisserie - although small in both, more dense in the more recent 2017. The colour of the dial has changed too - it is definitely darker. The AP logo different.
What also surprised me has been the bracelet - actually was thinner in the 2014 model vs the 2017 with the lateral screws smaller in that version.

I prefer the 2017 dial vs the 2014. Bracelet - not sure - it certainly feels sturdier.

Anyhow I thought i shared some pics!

I have seen differences in the gold 15202. Some clasp is hallow and some has the solid block like in the steel models. The hallow one has the double ap logo on the clasp. The bracelet thickness itself is for sure different. I am not sure which is better...

Also the engraving for both watches are different in the back of the watch as well. The hallow ones have engraving on the case, and the solid block one has it on the case back.

This blog has some info.
What is strange is that the watch from my post did not fully match the blog. Had the lighter dial, with larger tapisserie but the series and year according to the blog should have had the darker dial...

Wow. That’s interesting. I’ve seen the similar differences within 15400 silver even when they were only 06 months apart in production
