Which iconic Chronograph would you choose?

Hey watch world! I’m trying to decide which chronograph to get? Deciding between the Zenith El Primero 1969 or Sapphire Sandwich Omega Speedmaster professional. Which would you choose?

The FOIS. Classic styling. 39mm proportions and no crown guards (the way it should be).

I’d go with the speedy. I prefer the look to the primero.

like them both. Slight edge with the Speedy.

Between those , speedy pro. If want something a drop smaller, FOIS. I have a zenith el primero (39mm?) also but speedy gets way more time .

But of course I would choose a Daytona over any mentioned thus far in this thread.

speedy... non plastic.

This is where i don't care to be true to the original. If i got a vintage mustang, it wouldn't have an 8 track player in it, id update that part.

I would go for the Zenith DEFY El Primero.

Really advanced movement that has 1 escapement for the Watch (36,000 VpH - 5 Hz) ; 1 escapement for the Chronograph (360,000 VpH - 50Hz)

The Speedy is the most iconic chronograph made. Period. Also, I'm a sapphire sandwich fan.

Tough choice. I picked the Speedy but either is the right answer.

Between the two options presented I'd probably choose the Speedy, but would take a Navitimer 41mm over both of them

For me, one of the big draws for the "real" Speedy with hesalite was the price for a near-new used model. Once the prices get to $3,500+, it starts to get in the price range for nicer watches that, IMO, look a lot better. When you start to go even higher with the "Speedy" models that have little or no connection to the original, there are lots of watches I'd rather have.

Speedmaster with sapphire.

I like the clear caseback, the durability and the fact it doesnt have a plastic piece like the original

I went for the zenith myself and never regretted it but they are both terrific watches.

Speedy’s are a bit too ubiquitous. The Zenith gets it for me.

Can't go wrong with a Speedy. Get one with a plastic crystal if you're a purist.
