My first IWC!

I was in need of a dress watch so looked all over the place for a "black leather band". I always liked IWC and ultimately went with this beautiful thing! The gray dial is stunning, although not quite to Hulk levels. I also preferred the raised crystal and dial details over the latest version (3903) which looked much more "modern" to me.

Anyway, the one issue I have is that the band is a little tight and I need to add a hole... I'm an 8" wrist. Any recommendations on that? I have been debating taking this baby to the basement and just putting a new hole in the band but I wanted to bounce this idea off the smart folks here first.

I’ve had a similar issue w leather straps on my vintage TT DJ. Some of the various straps I’ve had over the yrs needed one of the factory holes to be slightly elongated or I needed a ‘tweener’ hole. I took the strap to my work bench and used a sharpened flat piece of narrow metal to make the necessary adjustments. Sometimes a jewelers screw driver would do the trick.

In your case, I’d suggest a punch or maybe a sharpened ice pick.

Best of luck!

A shoe repair store can be your friend for adding a hole in a strap.

so, Michaels or similar craft stores will sell punches for adding eyelets to things, they are about $3-$4, come in a variety of sizes and will make a nice round hole.
just try to get it as close in spacing as the other holes are and you'll be golden...

Love that watch BTW, though do prefer the newer dial, but with the sapphire that's on yours...

Or a real strap hole punch?

Nice looking piece, congrats and welcome to the IWC family!
As others have said, the leather punches would do the trick, I've used one on my belts in the past

If you add a deployant (don’t know if this watch already has one) it may change the sizing just enough to avoid making a hole.
