5296 sector dial owners

Any out there? Would love to see some shots

Have been trying to buy a Patek and of those I’d be able to purchase (within my range) this seems to be one of my favorite options. Push me over the edge!

5296 sector dial owners

Just picked one up this week and couldn’t be more pleased. The pictures in this article put me over the edge:

http://magazine.bulangandsons.com/sp...ava-5296g-001/

I just love how the contrast in hues of the different sectors change in different lighting. I am ordering some straps from Bulang & Sons and some quick change straps from Camille Fournet so that I can dress it down and up depending on the setting. Here are some pictures of mine:

It was just discontinued this year. So it may be somewhat harder to source , new or used.

This thread pushed over the edge.

I found a dealer online and am planning to meet him in person to pick up the watch. He already sent me some photos of it, it looks alright and the certificate seems to be legit. But it only comes in a long flat box with a window in the middle where to you see the watch.

Is this normal?

I know what I should be getting when I buy a Rolex. But this is gonna be my first Patek and I honestly don't know what to expect when it comes to box and paper and hang tag and stuff.

Does the 5296G only comes in this kind of box?

I got a wood box with certificate of origin, hang tag, manual and some PP museum propaganda (all in a leather portfolio). I also received some white handling gloves. That said, I think they ship the watch in the box you are talking about, much like the coffin Rolex ships in but I don’t know for sure. Great watch so congrats in advance!

5296’s cousin....the 5396. You gotta love the sector dial on both of these beauties.

the 5296g-001 has been in production a long time and i do not believe that the big polished box came with all models. Earlier models also were rhodium plated i believe as well (which has pros and cons - generally a con to me personally) and newer ones have a silicon balance springs (which has pros and cons - general a con to me personally but that's what i have)

(i always loved the signature on the 5396 sector! congrats)

I’ve been contemplating a 5296G sector dial for years, it is time to get one.

I love the look of the sector dial. But it’s one that I never wear. Will probably sell it. Waiting to see what LVMH does with the Tiffany/Patek relationship.

If you do, I know a buyer (not that you'll have any shortage of them).
