Rolex with clear back case?

Does Rolex make clear back case on any of their watches? I notice some Omega does.

Simplistically. No. In actuality.......yes they do. As a general rule, if you see a Rolex with an exhibition caseback, RUN......IT is probably a fake

From the factory, NO. There are a few members here who have purchased aftermarket ones. I personally think they are cool. I love to look at the movements on the few models I have with them but many purists are against them.

I say do what YOU like and if you want one, buy it!

David's right, it's your watch do as you like, I think there are some people on TRF that can hook you up with a service that will do a very nice job. I won't change mine, call me a purist, I just don't think I should do that to my watch, but if they would offer that option I'd be the first in line!

Rolex does make a display caseback on one of their new models. It is one of those rectangular dress-watches. I have no idea what name/model no. Since I only like the sports models, but I saw one a couple weeks ago at an AD.

agree 100% here
but
save your original caseback(dont be tempted to sell) then when service time arrives just put it back on as i believe Rolex wont service or work on your watch if it has an "aftermarket" caseback

this is from the webpage below
the blue and red themed Omega Ref. 2535.80.00 has a clear case back revealing the Omega 2628 Self Winding Co-Axial Escapement.

Yes, James Dowling owns one of two known to have left the factory with a clear back. It's a Rolex Oyster Royal.

Damn, i was going to mention that, nobody remembers this one

As for Rolex sports with clear casebacks, why would anyone want one, the movement isn't that pretty to look at, there's no real benefit to seeing the movement unfortunately.

If you want a clear caseback, then i'd save up a little while longer and get a nice Patek or Lange, they do fantastic movements that deserve to be seen
