I also received an email PM from “shellycaper” with a link. He has since been banned. Be cautious of the scammers out there. They seem to be working TRF hard today.

All of these users are phishing attempts located in Nigerian scam centers.

They are after your information and identities.

I just got an email from a user called "theodun" offering a watch to trade and to click a link. I did not click the link and the message does not seem to be present in my inbox despite having a TRF email sent to me. Funny thing is, I never made it known that I was in the market for a watch nor was I selling a watch.

I got a PM from Jtnyc who has a zero post count. He was inquiring about trading my 5205R with him. Very strange.

Can private messages be turned off for new members below a certain post count or membership date? I hate to turn off my messages just to keep scammers from sending them to me

We tried this and got complaints, mostly from the seller/flipper group.

We restrict posting url's, now we get those who post a dozen stupid one-word quickies to get around it.

Best we can do is keep up.
