Thank you for that detail - I presume that you posted a “want to buy/trade” for a Sub in that FB group.

If I appear dense, please accept my apology. Just trying to unravel for better understanding. I am not judging - I empathize with your loss - it’s like a robbery/burglary. I know firsthand how bad that feels.

The chain of prior ownership appears to be:
Person1 >>> Person2 (young guy) >>> Person3 (scammer Mario Wo).

What did either Person1 or Person2 tell you about the watch’s authenticity and/or Mario Wo’s integrity before you did the deal?

That's why some sellers have an asking price for cash or direct wire, and then say "I also accept PP plus fees" which means you will pay a bit more via this option.

With FF transfer, the seller (receiver) pays the fee. As mentioned, this service is not linked to any goods or services, meaning you acknowledge that you are not getting anything in return for the money you are sending. Therefore, you do not have Paypal's buyer protection with FF.

BUT FF is not particularly safe for honest sellers either: If you have a CC connected to your PP and pay through that, even via FF, you can then reach out to your bank (not paypal) and ask for a charge-back because of fraudulent transaction!

So, neither the buyer nor the seller are particularly protected with FF, if one of them is an @sshole! Bottom line, guys: there is a reason this service is called "Friends and Family". (~ "I know you and I trust you")

To the OP, I am sorry about your troubles. Hope you can rectify some of your loss.
I don’t understand when you say in “friends and family the seller pays the fee”. There is no fee. If I send $100 via friends and family to my friend and or family, they get $100. There is no protection of course and these instances reiterate the need for full PayPal protection.

To the OP- even if this trade came to fruition, both parties would have to pay Customs duties on top of the trade value/cash. Did you undervalue the watch that you sent? That may hurt any cooperation from the German government.

Sorry to read about this debacle. Facebook is to be avoided, just like Chronocentric. Chris Essery @HorologyHouse was pulling his scams on the FB platform too.

So OP what exactly did you receive? I know both sides filmed the shipping process to confirm everything was above board, but how did the tracking info unfold? Did he 'actually' ship something? Were there updates for the tracking?

For how many days now?

I believe those are the photo’s and screenshots from the FB deal that is at the core of the scam being reported here. Not from eBay.

Hoping you could get back your Exp1 at least. Consider that Paypal FF gone, though.

I think you can contact who you sent the watch through and get it sent back to you, since it is still in transit. If you have already discussed this please excuse me.

The shipping status the OP has been referencing is the purported Sub that the scammer supposedly shipped to him.

The OP’s Explorer has apparently arrived at the scammers address.

Please let us know who the shipping carrier is (FEDEX, UPS, DHL etc) - the one that is handling the package that the scammer said he shipped to you.

He sent it DHL then switches to usps supposedly. It currently shows that it went through checkpoint in frankfurt and transferred to usps. Usps shows handled in frankfurt may 23rd 3am.

This is the same situation the other gent is in who sent him the submariner he proposed and was to send.

He must be of middle eastern descent he links himself to 3 arabic restaurants all withing the same block area. His paypal went to urban grill gmbH, the place the other gent sent his rolex was called Papai a middleastern restaurant, and the phone number he shared is registered to Hoqqa restaurant. All in bremen along the same street.

Thanks - but do you mean Deutsche Post? There is no usps in Germany. There is a DHL service that hands off to US Postal once a package arrives in US and after Customs clearance here.

But if it is still in Germany, then it is likely stuck in their own Customs*. This way he could fetch it back by now.

* Per German export:
To go out of the EU, Customs clearance is necessary. The Customs clearance office checks the export declaration, controls the goods and authorizes the collection of the goods by the carrier. The goods are held for a period of 20 days maximum.

Apologies Pyclah for hijacking your thread. I've deleted my post and will make a new thread. Having been scammed previously I know how devastated and frustrated it makes you feel. I hope you manage to find a resolution to this and I hope the local authorities help you. Best of luck!

I’d start your own thread on that problem. It is different issue.

To be fair to OP, I’d suggest solving 1 problem at a time.

Shipments to Australia are taking forever. Sent a package March 17th and still hasn't arrived.
