Cool . Glad to hear you made the move. Sounds like it's a Friday vigil at the window watching for a delivery van

I'll wear my Speedmaster Pro between now and Friday as a gesture of solidarity and support

Great choice, being a traditionalist I purchased the hesalite model. In non-traditional fashion I modded it with a mitsukoshi dial. Can’t go wrong with either and each there own~

Can’t wait to buy some leather straps! What are some good websites to buy straps? I’ve seen so many pictures of the speedy with leather straps and they look amazing!

Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch

Delugs straps
Bulangandsons
Molequin
....
....
....

You can also give it a try to the Omega Nato straps, expensive but imo well worth it if you are in for a nato, fit and finish top!

Many many others

I just bought one myself. AAFES was running a nice special and I pulled the trigger. Kind of live out in the sticks so bracelet adjustment might have to wait for a while.

Still undecided if I want the Hesalite or Sapphire Sandwich....

If I had a larger wrist I would probably go for the Speedy pro. It has definitely grown on me.

The speedy, surprisingly, does not wear large for a 42mm.

This is true; especially If it’s on a leather strap.

I've often heard that as well. I have to say, I do prefer the look of it on the bracelet. Have often thought of looking for a 1997 Speedy Pro(birth year), but the size has always put me off. A few years ago I did buy a 90s speedy reduced, which had a mess of problems, and I ended up selling it for a loss. I liked the way it fit at 38mm, but the spacing for the subdials I wasnt a big fan of. Maybe one of these days ill try on a speedy pro in person.

Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch

After wearing my Speedy everyday for two weeks now, am I crazy to say that I am enjoying it more than my Rolexes? It is such an understated and under the radar beauty. It wears so comfortably on the wrist especially with the straps. I love it!

Great choice! Wouldn't call it an understated beauty though. It's the most sought after Swiss chronograph after all, and rightly so.
