116622 Yacht-Master Rhodium Review

Wonderful watch. Purchased from OCROLEXGUY in Huntington Beach. Patrick is awesome. Been looking at the Yacht-Master for over a year deciding between Blue or Rhodium...I found that the Rhodium is a dial which goes with just about everything. The sunray dial is awesome in the sun and changes colors depending on the angle. Dark grey to light grey. I do not find alot of YM in the wild...so it's nice and when you do find them...I see alot of Platinum blasted dials. The baby blue second hand and text is really nice.

Oyster band fits nicely on the wrist. You can adjust band three ways:
1) Add/Remove a link Each link adds/remove 10mm
2) Expand/Close Easy Link adds/removes 5mm
3) Move the end within the Clasp add/removes 3.5mm

Rotating bezel is smooth and clicks with each turn. Different from the Turn-O-Graph (my favorite) which glides. Turn-O-Graph bezel also is spring loaded so when you press on the bezel it has a little play/bound in it. Yatch-Master does not.

The Polished Center Links especially the clasp do scratch more than I would like..but as a tool watch that you will wear everyday, I think that it's appropriate. I had it no more than a day and then doing emails...I look at the clasp and it got scratches just form rubbing up against my laptop base. incredibly frustrating...Cape Cod Cloth...here I come!

it is a bit heavier than at 36mm..so make sure to wear it a bit snug becuase what happens (to me) is when I turn my wrist counter clockwise the watch flows to the back...so I may shorten the link on the Inside bracelet to keep the watch centered on the wrist.

I have a 5.75 wrist and I feel it still fit's nicely at 40MM. But that it pushing the limit.

Cobgratulations on your new YM. What you said is very true, you don't see too many out there! I have had my eye on this one for a while and appreciate the review. Definitely a beauty.

I just tried out a few at the AD today..
They are definitely nice...!
I prefer the 37mm versions..
Esp the 2 tone choc and the rhodium..
BTW..seems watch people luv em..the watch salesman had a platinum dial YM on his wrist as well as the used watch dealer in the next town..
The TOG's are nice too..I esp liked the gold bezeled one I tried on today as well..

I love the turn-o-graphs...especially because they do not make them anymore. The newer 116263, 116261, 116264 series with the red hand and date really are keepers and one of a kind.

I traded my turn-o-graph in for the YM. I did look at the SS/RG chocloate dial...and felt that the gold bezel was a bit to dressy. The platinum bezel seems a bit more casual and in keeping with a tool watch theme. You can dress it up or down. The Rhodium dial goes well with any attire. and the baby blue hands really look great.

JazTime, TimePiecePerfection, and DavidSW have good prices on them. I got my from ocrolexguy (local to me...so went to personally meet him.

I still like the Platinum Bezel over the RG bezel. The RG bezel seems to be much dressier the Platinum Bezel you can dress up or down and more versitle. But that is true for any TT verses SS

Bought the Rhodium dial YM a couple of months ago. Love the dial and the baby blue lettering and second hand.(think UNC colors). Very distinctive and goes with casual or jacket and tie wear, especially if you have some silver in your hair. Ha ha.

Just picked one up this week , traded in my BLNR . Compared to my TT sub. ceramic and rose gold Daytona this is a "low bling" watch. I like it much better than the dime a dozen SS sub. you see everywhere.

What about the Blue Dial version? I find it more attractive than the Dark Rhodium. What are Your views about it?

Cool review. I wasn't crazy about the Yachtmaster until the (cute) AD girl suggested I try on the 116655 - been wanting one ever since. Would love to see if anyone's put an Oysterflex bracelet on the rhodium or the blue dial, have a feeling that would look great.

Would love to have one of these in my collection. However, I not many second hand sellers of this watch out there and if there is, they are too far from where I live.

I find that the Rhodium YM 116622 is a bit more subtle. The Blue dial is striking with the red sweep. I find that the red sweep against the blue sunray dial is awesome. I had both. I had the rhodium dial and then traded it for the Blue dial. Both are beautiful watches...but favor the Blue dial more because of the contracts red and blue. Again the Rhodium is gorgeous and just a bit more subtle...the Blue sweep hand against the rhodium dial is just a softer look than I want.

i prefer the rhodium dial over the blue dial. rhodium is much more classic and less sporty looking than the blue so you can dress it up or down.
