Omega Speedmaster in 40mm

I can't wear anything bigger than 40mm watch.

Is there a listing of model that comes in 40mm size?

I see so many speedmaster which looks the same, but listed as different size. I'm confused :)

Thanks,

You can opt for what’s referred to as a speedy reduced. It’s 39mm roughly. Model number is 3510.50 for the original run. They have a second one that does not have the Arabic’s.

Those are options as listed above, but have you tried out the 42mm speedy in person. Every watch wears can wear different, so a 42 in one brand/style may wear a lot smaller or bigger than another.

Yes, the First Omega in Space is what you want. Dial is the same size as the Speedy Pro, but the lack of crown guards means it measures in slightly smaller. I used to own one and it wore well on my 6.5" wrist.

I agree. If you can, try the Speedmaster Professional on for size. If not for the asymmetric shape of its case (due to the crown and pusher guards), it would measure 40mm. Also, note that it wears a bit smaller on a strap than the bracelet.

If you're not sure of it, then the First Omega In Space (FOIS) and the CK2998 are specified by Omega just under 40mm.

There are varieties of the Speedmaster smaller than 42mm or 40mm, but I recommend starting with the ones described here before resorting to others. If possible, I recommend you experience a "true" Speedmaster with three registers and the hand-wound Caliber 1861.

question: is CK2998 bezel and dial in black? or is it blue? I can't tell based on all the pictures I see online so far. Does it come in black or blue?

Thanks,

I know the WIS crowd only likes the handwind Pro but it might be worth a look at the Automatics... under 40.

I always thought the moonwatch was too big on my 6 1/3 in wrist until I went to the boutique and tried one on. It was not too big at all. I did not look at it and thought that it was a sizable difference from my Speedy reduced. I almost wish I just got the professional in the first place.

The 42mm Speedy pro hesalite wears like a 40mm if you wear it on a strap. To me wears the same as a SubC on oyster

As others have remarked, the FOIS lacks crown guards and so is 40mm instead of the 42 mm for the Speedy Pro. I cannot imagine that the lack of crown guards makes the FOIS wear appreciably smaller than the Speedy Pro in any respect.

I was in an Omega store yesterday and tried on the Speedy Pro. I have smaller wrists and it was perfectly fine on me. It wears smaller than you'd expect. What was more surprising to me was that the DSOTM at 44.25 mm fit very well too. It wore smaller than its size might indicate, and I think some of this was due to the fact that it's on a strap.

Personally, I would not get the Speedy reduced. Get the Pro or FOIS depending on which look you prefer.

People need to stop reading the "specs" and try out the watches. No real excuse not to as Omega watches are available at boutiques/ADs readily.

IMO Omega is very good at designing lugs to give a nicer fit on the wrist. As others mentioned the Speedmaster (either pro or FOIS variants) both wear around the same and is more comparable to a 40mm Rolex versus a 42mm watch....likewise I feel their coaxial Speedmasters at 44-45mm wears like a 42mm Rolex....albeit a bit thicker.

Fois, but really the Speedmaster imo wears smaller than most 42mm watches.
