Icon1 Explorer II 16570 Opinion (Real or Fake)

Hi all, I have been eyeing my first Explorer II. I have chosen a pre-owned Year 2000 model with a black dial.

Its coming from a private seller in my country. I have personally met the seller and felt the watch. I am being offered a very slightly below market price.

HI wish to seek your opinion on this watch, and point out any discrepancies, if any. Advise me if the dial is the correct type, whether the font looks correct, etc.

I am still going to bring it into RSC/shop for verification and get it serviced.

However, I would still like a second opinion on this watch, as I know nothing much about Explorer 2s. 2 heads are better than 1 afterall.

Thanks in advance, and I really appreciate your opinion on this! :)

Attached are some pictures which I took when I held the watch.

In case the pictures does not appear, here is the google drive link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8...kgyWE9OcGMtejQ

Watch is authentic and the dial is correct swiss-only for that time period. This surely must be one of the final examples before the change to solid endlink bracelet in the early 2000's. Speaking of links... the bracelet is short 3 links. Does it come with any extra links?

Thanks for your response! The seller has included the links separately. By the way how much would you pay to acquire such an example, with box but no papers?

Here in the U.S., maybe $3600-3900.

Seller is asking around USD 3500. But I'm going to factor in an additional USD 300 for a completel overhaul at an independent watchmaker. So total cost would be around USD 3800. Could be cheaper due to currency conversion rates.

Thoughts?

Price is ok. I'd consider a full Rolex service at the Singapore RSC, though. Then you will have some Rolex paperwork, which will add some value to the watch and give you a two year international warranty.
