Rose Gold Rainbow Daytona Discontinued

I was told by both my AD and a fellow collector Rolex produced a world-wide total of approx. 250 Rainbow Daytonas in rose gold over the actual 3.5 year production run. A shockingly small number given Rolex makes 1.1 million watches per year. As someone who collects watches, I respect Rolex for doing that, especially when they don’t have to.

My understanding is that production is bounded by the gemsetting team, and to a lesser degree the availability of quality gemstones in the size and color they need. Therefore not so much a conscious choice to limit output.
