Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 45th Anniversary (Images)
Did a write up on the Apollo 11 45th Anniversary here. Must admit my first thoughts were a bit meh but there is quite a bit of attention to detail - plus it is quite well priced. What were your thoughts?

It think it is a good looking piece, but am I the only one getting really tired about 300 different versions of the Omega Speedmaster Pro? The base model is just fantastic, let it live and age with dignity!

Yeah, I know what you mean. It does feel like sometimes they're are flogging a dead horse, not to say the Speedmaster is dead but in the case of the Apollo versions - there will always be an anniversary...

If not, they'll make one up - what is a 45th anniversary really?

I've given up on Speedies (even though that's a very handsome version) - there're just too many models out there to keep track of.

while I also think there are too many versions and anniversaries, the original Speedy and a lot many of the versions I absolutely love...and this one is no exception...wonderful new iteration keeping the basics the same..it is great to see what all can be done with Speedy keeping basics the same...love 'em

Looks really nice overall. However, I prefer automatic movt co-axial calibre, so I won't be buying one of this version.

It's a beautiful looking watch. I love the mix of metals and colours, the grey and rose gold.
Yes there is a 50th anniversary coming which will surely be in gold? That would be WAY out of my price range which is why this one is for me. Just waiting for mine to come in to the AD. Really like it on the bracelet, may have to order one for it. |
