It's been a while since I've had my 16600 out - namely due to my 126600 hogging lots of wrist-time...

...but it's back in my rotation and has only one competitor as seen by today's wristshot...

The timeless Rolex SD 16600, an icon since '88, stands proud alongside its successor, the Red Writing, with its bold statement. Completing the ensemble is the understated elegance of the Submariner No Date, a symbol of tradition and simplicity. Together, they epitomize generations of enduring style. What a family portrait!!

Sd 16600

My first Rolex Seadweller was a 16600 that I bought new in 1983, back when it was common to be able to buy them at a discount from retail. It was $900 something, which was 10% off retail. Great watch; it definitely took a beating and kept on ticking. I wore it to work as an Engineer on a nuclear construction site and went scuba diving all over the world with it. It never failed to run accurately. I have owned many Seadwellers since then and still own one. I will always own a Seadweller.
