Day-Date 18038 Bracelet help!
Hi guys...
I hope you can help me with my beloved 18038.. It’s in really good condition but one of the link ends seems to have collapsed... It’s one of the links that can’t be removed.. I’ve been told it can easily be laser welded.. Have you seen this before, and has anybody come across this before?? |

I’ve never seen a picture like that? All original, no aftermarket?

Yes.. 100% Original.. Got it serviced a year ago at an AD.. Ofcourse they offered me a new bracelet.. Yes, right. Only around $12-13.000.
They could not fix it, without changing the bracelet.. Really lame.. They offered me to contact a goldsmith to fix it, since Rolex don’t do Gold repairs.. Only changes to new.. And since int a fixed link it’s not just a remove an switch.. I told them I could contact a goldsmith myself.. Up until 18238 it was hollow links.. I don’t know if this is a production fault or something I googled it, and haven’t found a single article regarding this problem.. |

Never seen that before. It looks like somethings that could be fixed through laser welding, but I’d definitely consult a professional. Maybe LAWW

I believe it is original. 18238 also has "hollow end links" however the 118xxx has solid bracelet.

The damage is caused by wear and is something any goldsmith can fix.

MY and get the whole bracelet refurbed at the same time. You’ll have a brand new watch for < $2k, most likely.
