This happened way too soon...

I thought Platinum is tougher than gold... but it only took a lady bumping into me with her keys to ding my 5170P ...killing me right now.
If I took it to Patek Rockefeller would they be able to help me on the spot? I really don’t want to get it polished and feel like the face is smaller.. this happened wayyyy too soon

It’s unique now. Don’t sweat it... only way to avoid these is by leaving it in the watch box

Agreed. Just leave alone. Dings give character.

That location would bother me too. But I would just learn to live with it until service, doubt a local boutique will be able to fix that and not sure I would allow them to. Just have it done at service.

The nice thing about this happening is that you can wear it without worrying now and will eventually forget about the tiny scratch.

That's way too small... Don't sweat it and enjoy. You'll thank the lady later for breaking it in. Do not polish over that.

I have a pin prick mark edge of brushed / polished in between 1-2 hour marker. No idea how got. Painful but over it now. Jorge knows best - be fine with the bezel or sell and never return

I got a ding on the edge of my 5164 bezel at 12, I think the second week in. Some lady smacked her purse with metal studs right into it right underneath my office. I was pissed for a good few weeks but got over it eventually.

Sure enough there is also another mark at 12 on my 5712 bezel (not a ding) and I don't remember how it got there. But I'm over it and I'm enjoying the piece to its full extent.

I wouldnt polish that. If you polish it. You are definitely removing material to smooth that out

I've got lots of dinged-up watches. It turns it from "a Patek" to "your Patek".

I've read that you don't actually lose metal with platinum. It gets moved to one side with a ding. Don't know if this is true or not.

Gotta say, that sucks. I don't baby my platinum chrono and wear it every day. But when I'm walking in a crowd, I tend to put my hand behind my back.

It's just like car dings. People just do not care, and probably have absolutely no idea they did this.

70 weeks to fix? So that's 69+ weeks of waiting in line and an hour or three of fixing it? There's gotta be a better way. But I'd wait till service either way.

LA Watchworks can fix it quickly and do as good a job as Patek Geneve.

There is also a place in Brooklyn. I reached out to them when someone
pushed me into a stucco while I was wearing my 5170p.
Unfortunately they never responded . Henry Stern told me
they would only fix at service and Central Watch wouldn’t touch it .
I used cape cod and it worked! Yours is a lot worse unfortunately.
NYC is a dangerous place for watches.
Good luck!

Wait it out and see.

I dinged my ROO a while ago and wanted to sell it. After a week or so, I started not to care so much and actually enjoy wearing it more than ever

Yeah if you really can't stand it, I'd contact LAWW and ask about laser welding and filling. Do not polish that watch. 70 weeks....lol........

Lol yea, they are extremely busy they said... I’m going to try to get used to it. As of now I’m becoming cross eyed trying to enjoy the beautiful dial while my right eye is focusing on that damn ding....

Going to try this... this has been my grail watch. My heart breaks just looking at it. My rm030 which is 1000000000000MM thick hasn’t gotten a scratch on it. This piece is so thin it hides in my shirt gets a deep ding. Oh the irony .

Didn’t you return your first 5170p? So this is the second?
