Is it just the setting of the date or is the movement quirky in other ways?

So this would make 9 in the collection, which I think is pretty diverse with regard to dial colors and types. Kind of want to cap it there, been sending things in and out for a while.

For dress watches, I have:
Patek 3940g (white dial)
Jlc tt1931 reverso (black dial)
Laurent Ferrier travel time (blue dial)

For manual wind chronos, I have:
Patek 5070g (white dial)
Vintage speedmaster (black dial)
Patek 5170p (blue dial)

For sports watches, I have:
116500 (white dial)
16710 Pepsi (black dial)
Looking for a blue dial

but I am comparing to the Sub white gold as per OP subject. Gold is softer than stainless steel, it will scratch much easier.

Scratches don’t bother me too much, but this has definitely been brought up as a concern by many

*date setting function

are the top three things I would consider.

If you haven’t seen it, here is a comparison when I owned them, prior to the current market insanity

Ps for what it’s worth, I am at this moment strongly considering (very likely) a 116619 purchase at this moment.
Thanks Gus...I actually re-read your post yesterday as I was searching the forum. Very valuable!

Me, I set it, and don’t find it too much trouble, but it’s close. :-/ The AP winding tool helps quite a bit.

I’ve always loved the Smurf, except for the inelegant slab side of the maxi case (one of the reasons I let my BLNR go). Love the unique colorway and the stealth wealth, along with the weight and the subtle difference in appearance of WG vs SS.

Mr Gray, any chance you could post a shot of your Smurf on your 6.5” wrist?
My ocd probably would not allow me to not set the date

Think the 202 would fit in perfectly.

It is setting the date as well as time. The crown is small and cumbersome to use. You will gain new appreciation for the triplock after using it.

I wouldn't let it stop you from buying one. Just need to go in eyes open.

15202 by a mile.

I wish I had one, had to settle for the 15400.

Both is the answer but I’d rather have the Smurf first. My opinion better all arounder there’s just something about that unique blue...don’t think you’ll see many in the wild.
