Provenance of this ref 6694?
I recently acquired this timepiece, ref 6694, and am curious as to it's authenticity and provenance. The band is not the original (came with a leather strap) and I planned on giving it to my eldest son when he graduates from high school. I built an AR pistol (yeah, I'm a gun guy too) for an acquaintance that I know IRL and he paid me with this. If it's a fake, I'm not out much, but I'll never do business with the guy again. Just looking for some confirmation, one way or the other.
Background: the research tells me that it is a 1950 (pre-cyclops) timepiece and that it is indeed genuine. I have had it authenticated by a certified Rolex dealer locally, but the Rolex AD closest to me had some doubts. I questioned the person as to if she had seen a model like the one pictured, but she admitted she had not. Thanks! |

Your picture is a bit small to say anything.
If you had it checked at one shop, was it a watchmaker who looked at it, or sales staff. I wouldn't take the word of anybody who just stands behind the counter and sells stuff.

I was really disappointed in the treatment I received at the Rolex AD. |
