Icon5 Is it real or fake

Hello the community,
A good friend of my father which seems to have lots of money gave me this watch and I would like to know if it’s a real one and what’s the model name.

Nice friends to hand out $90,000.00 dollar baubles.

Of course, it looks like one of the many replicas to me, but pictures can deceive.

Looks similar to this but with significant differences. I'd tread real carefully. Get the movement authenticated.

Sacré bleu!!!!

Who knows?

(But do a search function 'father' + 'gift' + 'real'... then sit back. Its a trip down memory lane.)

Fake I would imagine. Look how far left justified the date is.

Are you sure your friend and his father are real?

Not so sure about the watch.

Strange model to fake. Not the best pic but to go to such lengths to knock off an obscure reference. Better pics please.

Meteorite dial looks a little off, I owned one and the rutilations or whatever looked more variegated. But I guess it could be real, IDK.

This is simply not the place to authenticate such a watch by only a couple of photos.

Surely, there is no shortage of places in France to have an expert inspect the watch.

I wish I have friends who'd give me $100k watches on a whim.

Agree but could be authentic, with aftermarket diamonds to dress like genuine one.
I believe genuine one had diamonds for all markers as well.
Bad picture but if anything, Rolex is known for some great quality stones that shine quite a bit.

Given the rehaut is a shiny mirror finish, I'd say it's a cheap fake (as in, not even an expensive fake). Unless on that model the rehaut is not brushed like every other Rolex, then I could be wrong.

EDIT: just looked around at some other DD's and it could appear that they do have a shiny rehaut (unless I was looking at more fakes lol) so I may disregard my above observation! I have my coat....

The 6 and 9 markers are not really lined up. The font of the date is not matching. The 1 is thicker then the 7 and the 7 is leaning to the left.

I would say this one is a fake.

Well I’ve never seen this model faked anywhere, but it just doesn’t look like white gold? Take it in somewhere and have it tested and checked over.

I inherited this watch from my grandfather, so it’s difficult for me to determine their originality. Please, help.

You had an entire thread of your own about this clearly fake watch.

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...81#post9907881

It isn't any less fake when you tag it on somebody else's thread.

He’s just testing the waters like OP?
In his case the fake waters.

Look,
You come here as a newbie, posting pics from a 120k watch like it was a $50 Casio and expect us to give an expert opinion.

Given your attitude in your second post and the questionable surface ( could be your crappy image though) of the meteorite dial, I‘d say fake.

You say that it‘s real, so let us see the hallmarks in clear pics and the meteorite dial in good and sharp images and maybe then we agree with you.

Look at the lines where the endlinks meet the case. They aren't even remotely straight.

For a fake, the actual diamond placement and other details aren't terrible, but obviously two terrible pictures aren't going to prove anything.
