Money laundering through car dealerships makes the news now and then, and this would be one way to do so without looking too flashy.

I much prefer to walk in a small BMW dealer and say ... "I will buy all the Z4 on your lot right now. (if you only have 3, maybe 4 if deals can be made)" ...

LOL

I would rather over pay for this 1998 and save $80k.

2020 Supra for... $200,000

A local dealer is holding an absolute auction for chassis #129 of the 1,500 in the launch edition.

And the dealer isn’t making $1 past MSRP. That’s because all proceeds above the MSRP will be donated to 2 different non-profit organizations.

50% of those proceeds will go to the local County Education Foundation and the other 50% will go to a non-profit chosen by the buyer.

https://web.cummingforsythchamber.or...n-4372/details

And who knows you might even get a kiss from the owner...

The car doesn’t look bad either...

Why would you wait years for this when you could have the real deal?

I had a Toyota veilside Supra mark4... which I regretfully sold. So I when I saw the FT-1 I said to the wife, that’s the next car I’m waiting for...I would go to the car shows just to catch a glimpse... but when the spy shots started to come out... I was hopeful, but when the unveiling came...I was so annoyed.

Anyhow vent over

Styling is very much about individual preference.
I like it although I'd prefer it without the non-functional vents/scoops/air intakes.
Seems like they may be priced a bit high for the US market, although here in Australia we are used to being ripped-off on imported vehicles.

I'd personally like to soften this up just a bit.

IMHO, if someone will not miss the money, and it does not adversely effect their life or their finances, I would say that they are probably smarter than the rest of us.

Money is just something to buy things with. Wether it be a home, security, or a retirement, it is simply a means to an end.

And you can't take it with you. I think the person enjoying life instead of obsessing over money/cost is actually far smarter than the person coveting money. I picture a lot of people like Golem coveting the ring....

You read all the time about people dying early in life. Or someone dying with millions in the bank, but lived a meager life.

Personally, I say enjoy it. Now, if the person spending that kind of money, wether it is MSRP or market value, does not have their finances in order...well, in that case, I agree that is not the smartest move. But if it doesn't effect anything, I say have at it.

In regard to this car, I like it. I do not like it enough to buy it, even at a discount, but I still do admire it.

Now the new GT500 is coming out and the dealer markups are also nuts. And that car I absolutely LOVE. But I still would not pay a 30k$ markup.

To each their own. And everyone has a different perspective and circumstance. Personally, I'd love to meet the person that buys this car. I expect they are a true baller and their next vacation will likely cost about the same as the car and the markup.
