RL Polo guy for most everything. Been wearing it since I was a teen. Mostly a Biz Casual guy so works for me. A friend here on TRF turned me onto Suit Supply a couple years ago and I love their stuff for cost effective work suits with a nice selection of styling. Plus they fit me perfect OTR. I have one really nice bespoke suit I had made a few years ago. Proper Cloth dress shirts for when I must wear a tie.

By far my favorite shoemaker is Rancourt. Best loafers in the world IMO. For a little dressier or boots I like Crockett and Jones.

Damn... It takes 22 hours to make a Brioni suit, and 35 hours to make a dinner jacket. More than 180 people work on each suit. The jackets alone go through 80 phases of ironing, and contain 5,000 hand-sewn stitches, the majority unseen. It takes 15 minutes, and the dexterity of a young Van Cliburn, just to hand-sew each buttonhole.

I’m very interested in rancourt- what kind of loafers do you have from them.

Like 8 pairs. Did a few custom orders and some ready made. Love them all. Hard to say whether I like the pinch or beefroll better. Much prefer their color 8 shell pinch penny over my Aldens Shells. Great boat shoes too.
If you have a specific question about a model, just PM me and I will try and answer.

Just a few.

This is a pair of Gaziano & Girling St James II Tan Kudu Vintage Cedar Calf .

Edward Green Galway in Walnut Country Calf and Dark Oak Calf.

Gaziano and girling make nice shoes

Agreed! Although I do think BR's outerwear/sweaters/knits are the shining pieces. The FW is always much more attractive than the SS to me.

All Saints is an awesome brand. Very high quality for prices they charge. And very fashionable to boot.

I think for men’s clothing design it has to be Hedi Slimane, now at Celine. You’ll need a slender body to pull it off. My standby is Prada and Officine Generale for more presentable stuff and as a standard I love Charvet shirts and things related. Then there’s Brunello Cucinelli for the long term. In the not so designer department that works well for daily wear I adore Patagonia, Filson and arc teryx for their warranties and wearability while on the road.

Love my Canada Goose and Barbour for outer wear. For suits I like Brooks Brothers and Canali, they just fit me well. The rest of my wardrobe I don’t have much brand loyalty.

I do pay attention to where the stuff are made; my first choice is always stuff made in USA, followed by European made.

I used to dress up for work and really liked Thomas Pink shirts, Brooks Brothers for suits, sweaters, pants. I bought Johnson and Murphy shoes before I knew better. For now it's jeans and polo shirts at most for me, I'm happy with Levi's and I've somehow acquired a lot of polo shirts from Beretta, sporting clays is a hobby. I did graduate up to Allen Edmonds shoes, which I have at least 8 pairs. I really only care about the brand of watch, shoes, sunglasses I'm wearing, as long as clothes fit well I'm not that picky. Sunglasses are Costa Del Mar. I own Multiple pairs each of Oakley, Maui Jim, Revo, had Ray Bans in the past, but Costas are the only ones I wear now, Oakley and MJ make terrific sunglasses but Costas lenses are better.

That's exactly right. I was in the trap a few years ago of buying over priced clothing. Not so much now. I used to model tuxs and suits long ago.

There's a point where the law of diminishing returns goes into effect. But there's also a difference between those brands being more name rather than using quality material and or craftsmanship.

It's not like those Goodyear Welted $1500 shoes will last any longer than well made Goodyear Welted $400.00 shoes. But as with any more costly goods if you buy right the fit, finish, is actually what you are paying for and they will look nicer and age better as well. Same with a more costly suit or any thing else. Just a matter of whether you are willing to do so. But then again if you can't tell the difference or that difference doesn't mean that much to you then go ahead and get a pair pf less costly shoes or even a pair of Nikes if that's what floats your boat. Of course it doesn't hurt to make sure even when spending the big bucks to make sure you do your homework.

People have to make their own decisions. Are $800 LV loafers as well constructed as a C&J handgrade? No, they're probably worse than $300 Allen Edmonds

But Allen Edmond style doesn't appeal to everyone. a lot of the price is brand, but at the same time, more talented designers would rather work for LV than AE

I own stuff that is styleforum-approved and also stuff that they'd scoff at, but it's our money at end of the day

Which is why we should go easy on Hublot wearers and not fall into snobbishness or nerdiness about things
