The serving was 5/6 years ago now. Why the hostility? Is that not what this section of the forum is for? Some kindness and understanding while I’m upset about the authenticity of this watch would be much appreciated.

People are hostile on here because others have taken advantage of the knowledge on this forum to hone their bogus watches. Your story is improbable and inconsistent at best. Instead of asking here you should probably chat with whoever sold you the watch since you said they were a "dealer."

Also, a blind person could tell what you posted is a fake so there's no way a competent watchmaker would claim it was legit.

Nobody takes a photo concealing the date with a bezel misaligned unless it’s on purpose.

As I said, I bought it a number of years ago, and have moved since then. How can I call up almost a decade later if there’s issues of authenticity? Sorry if others have had their knowledge abused for nefarious purposes.
That is not the case here.

Sorry, what do you mean by concealing the date? The bezel I was fidgeting with
Prior to taking the photo. Definitely not intentional.

Nobody in their right mind would take one photo at that angle and post it. The watch in a best case scenario should be thrown in a dumpster fire. It’s not remotely close to good.

I was getting increasingly frustrated trying to post a photo that met the constraints of the forum uploads. I ended up taking a photo from high above and cropping it. Obviously a very poor idea, due to frustration.
One of the other people on the forum was kind enough to add the other photo, after I sent it to them.

This watch is fake- there are so many tells it's incredible. We doubt your story because you INSIST it's real when it clearly is not based in the ONE photo someone posted for you... all of this is nonsense.

{I’m fairly upset by the possibility that it is not real, and I’m trying to keep a stiff upper lip about the whole thing} The fact we don’t have a dealer in my town is very frustrating when I’d still like someone to confirm in person just for my own piece of mind (at least try not to argue as I have no idea how I ended up with a fake one, and I’m trying to figure it out. I’m making up elaborate stories in my head of it being switched by a former roommate or something? I don’t know, I’m just fairly upset}
A crap sob story to go with the crap photo of a crap watch.

OP, since you insist it’s REAL. Who did you buy it from and also do you have B&P?

Where do I insist it is real? All I expressed was surprise, which wouldn’t you?

I’ll say again, you did not have that thing serviced (and cleaned as you say) by a Rolex dealer or anyone else. Fakes of that standard are non serviceable and watchmakers would not work on them...so your story stinks, sorry. We have heard it all before in here.

It's still running after 10 years? My BS detector is going haywire. Those things barely run long enough for the guy who hawked it to you to disappear into the crowd.

But haven't you heard. There are fakes out there with genuine Rolex movements.

Where in Canada are you ?

Which dealer did you purchase this from ?
How long ago ?
Box and papers, any warranty ?

The watch is fake but the dealer could have known... share with us the story.

Very much appreciate your patience on my struggling to post and feedback you have offered so far?
I have a scale at my work, how definitive would the weight be? It’s a
Lab scale so it’s very precise.

I bought the watch back in ~2009 or so and I even had it cleaned and serviced by a Rolex
dealership, who said it was authentic. Now I’m in a city with no Rolex dealership so
I can’t have it certified without sending it away.
You indicated that the watch was cleaned and serviced by a Rolex dealer and they authenticated it was real. Which dealer did you go to get this done and there must have been an invoice?

Not a troll. I'm been looking at possibilities to figure out which one it is. My friend took me there when I was visiting Vancouver and I'm not that familiar with Van.

I do appreciate that this one is not real. Like I said previously, I am wondering if a former roommate pulled a fast one on me. I feel very foolish for not noticing. It was tucked away and I only pulled it out when I was considering selling it.

If this is true, you need to report this to the cops, there will be DNA evidence from the scoundrel all over the watch, on the dirt inside the links or endlinks for example.

Newbie here... following this thread ..I feel sorry for you mate .best advice I can give is look at ur receipts of purchase, analyse individual watch serial number ,and if your old room did steal it go to police ..at the very least the watch will be on a Rolex stolen register...gutwrenching situation

Did your room-mate happen to be your grandfather?
