Sub 14060M Advice
I'm in the market for a 2-liner 14060M, preferably D/Z series.
I'm strongly considering the watch below. As this is my first "second-hand" watch purchase (and first Rolex!), I'm hoping for a little help with the following: 1. It looks authentic to me, but I welcome other opinions. 2. The condition looks pretty good to my untrained eye. I plan to keep the watch for a long time, so I'm willing to pay up for one in excellent condition. 3. Polished? Hard for me to tell. A well-polished watch wouldn't be a deal breaker, but the seller has made such an effort to say that it's never been polished that it would be hard to trust him if that wasn't the case. 4. The seller's opening offer is $9,800. That feels materially higher than the going rate for 14060M. Seller says it's marked up as (1) has complete box/papers and (2) unpolished + great condition. My research says decent 14060Ms from this timeframe are ~$8k without box/papers. Feels like quite the premium, but I'm curious what others think. thanks! |

IMO, it’s quite expensive compared to other offers in this range. Also, it has an engraved case back.
I’d keep on looking. In fact, it took me more than a year to find an affordable 14060M with box and papers and a 2 year Rolex warranty after having been serviced by RSC. That’s just my opinion |

That is quite the premium. Sounds like nos money to me. I'd pass.

Case looks pretty crisp as far as polishing goes. So either unpolished or well done/minimal. Hard to tell the condition with the lighting in those shots. Bracelet has a lot of fine scratches which would lead me to believe the case would as well. Then there is the engraved back. Not super expensive to replace.
I think you can find something nicer in the 7.5-8.5K range. Remember if the watch you are buying has not been serviced you will most likely need to add that to the price too. |

$8K is reasonable. The $9K the seller is asking you to pay is not.

Anyone who clicked that zip file should change their password and scan their computers for malware. Zip files are notorious for hiding nasties. Maybe OK, but don't take a chance

I appreciate that you'll have to take my word for it, but I'm as benign as they come on the internet (closer to incompetent than malicious). |
