5711 is my preference but you should get the 12 since you already have the 5711/1r

5712A is an awesome watch and seems a better compliment to your 5711R and 5980AR:

- Signature Nautilus blue / grey dial colour (still different from 5980AR)
- Interesting asymmetric dial which weirdly works extremely very well aesthetically
- Moon-phase and PR complications give this watch more romantic / classic feel
- Only Nautilus with the 240 micro-rator movement (so nice, and full of Patek DNA)

But then again, as a 5712 owner I am very biased.

Agree with all but being the only Nautilus with 240 micro -rotor movement. 5740G has 240Q movement

Quite interesting to see at what point the 5712 has become so popular, when I got mine it was more like 75% loved the 5711 and the 5712 got only 25%, many people used to say they didn't like the asymmetrical dial, while now its at least 50% who prefer the 5712, and in some cases more love the 5712, like on this thread, the results are overwhelmingly in favor of the 5712, for me no comparison, have both, one I love the other I like...

You are of course right, hadn't counted the new 5740 which I hear is going to be in very limited supply. Well, let's change it to the only steel Nautilus with a 240 movement then

I'd take the 5712 first...but that's also my preference between the 2. Enjoy that for awhile while you wait for the 5711 as I am now.

Could it be that another collector is giving up his priority for the 12 and now wants an exchange for the 11?
For all you know, you probably might be up the list for the 11.

Yes, has really changed, similar with the 5167 and 64, but I suppose as prices rise people are prepared to spend more and get more complications too, esp on a PP piece, so makes sense they become more popular.

5712 any day of the week for me. But I too would ask to be listed for the 5711 white. I personally think the white is just as nice as the blue dial and is under appreciated.

I went through the same dilemma few years ago, got the 5711A first and then the 5712A. I have been wearing 5712A more than the 5711A. With your purchase history 5711A will come well before 4-5 years.

yes, the AD owner said to me: if you take the 5712 it takes pressure off me to get you a 5711 very fast, but you will get one reasonably fast, in a year to two at best. i was happy with that since i have to pay for the 5320 and the 5740 rather sooner than later:::)))

i forgot to add that i tried the 5712A yesterday (i can only pick it up in a month from now for VAT return reasons) and it is strikingly beautiful. it made me stop regretting that i have sold the 5712R. possibly it wins over my 5980AR in terms of beauty:::)))

nothing wrong with that. Changing your mind is fine and you are not a flipper. Honestly i prefer the 12 anyway as its just got so much more going on.

5524 isnt for everyone but glad you gave it a shot.

thanks. my main reason for selling it was the size. in the end i wanted to love it but it was too big for my mannequin wrist after all. still, when i see your pics i love it!!! the blue strap is super-cool.

The 5712 is by far my favorite watch under 50k, the one I have is my second, the first I sold for an interesting real estate investment I missed it incredibly for the next 8 months, one thing is sure I will never sell the current one, it is an amazingly cool watch
