Double batons on the OP36??
I am in the market for a white dial OP. I love the simplicity and elegance of the white dial on the OP39. I have a 6.75" wrist and feel that it may be a little too big for me. The OP36 fits like a glove but I really don't like the double batons at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. The dial on the OP34 is basically the same as on the OP39, but the OP34 is too small. If I get the OP36 will I ever get used to the double batons? If I get the OP39 will I ever get used to the size. And a final question: do you think a jeweler could replace the double batons at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock on the OP36 with single batons? I know it invalidates the warranty etc., but I'm just asking. I attach photos of the OP36 with double batons and the OP39 on my wrist. Is it too big? What do you think?

In this case I would probably opt for the 34mm. It wears similarly to the 36mm.
Completely agree on the double batons, btw. Never been a fan of that dial in any color. |

I don't think the OP39 looks too big, and I agree with you on the double batons - not a fan at all.
I wouldn't totally rule out the OP34 though. I've seen a few 34mm incomings lately on this forum and they look great. Not too small at all. See Bas's (SearChart) OP olive dial for reference. |

39 looks fine... Good length of the bracelet showing on both sides, no big at all.
Double baton is a no go for me. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There is no photo of the 34. Just the 39 and the 36.

OP39 looks stellar on you. Not too big. You will get used to it. Just make sure you get a good deal on it and then won't lose much on flipping it for something else if you don't bond with it.

39 looks great on you. I’d go with that. If the double markers throws you off now, it always will. A lot of money to spend on something you’re not 100% on.

I'd probably go with the OP39. It looks good on your wrist in that picture.

Personally I do not like the double batons nor the numbered track dial on the 36. FWIW I think the 39 looks great on you. I just picked up the 34 for my partners Bday and she loves it. A friend of mine also picked up the 34 for himself last week and he loves it. He passed on the 36 because he didn't like the double batons and side by side, it was hard to tell the difference between the 2 sizes. I would never spend thousands on some thing and hope I get used to a feature on the watch I don't like. Good luck, that creamy white dial is to die for

I also dislike the double batons but think the 36 is a great size. Personally, I'd go for the 39 and it looks great on your wrist as well.

Op39 looks nicer on your wrist. Don’t fall for the equation of if your wrist is x inches go for dial of y mm. Wrist shape, hand size, fist size all play a part with proportionality of how a watch looks.

Like you, I would have liked the 36mm but couldn't swallow the double baton design on the dial. I ended up with the OP34 white dial and recently got a 116234 DJ36 with stick dial.
Visually the dials are the exact same size on the 34 and 36. Rather, it's the case shape/lugs that are slightly rounder and beefier (and I do mean slightly) on the 36mm. I haven't yet measured so I can't be certain, but this is my observation just by looking. |
