Modern or vintage, both?

Vintage- could be a dozen I would love to own- Never going to happen
Modern- probably 2-3 I wouldnt want my entire collection to be one brand

Three Dog Night covered this territory decades ago...

“One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do,
Two can be as bad as one,
It's the loneliest number since the number one”

So 3+

As many as you can afford, but I don't think anyone could be disappointed with a Rolex being their only watch.

I would say 3, the Sub, GMT and Daytona. I want to have more than Rolex in the collection so feel that these are the essentials and I can build out the collection with other brands.

If you stick with Rolex as a brand, it gets a bit repetitive past 10 maybe.

In all honesty, one Rolex is all anybody needs. Even that is a great accomplishment.

For me though the perfect number would be 3

1) RG DD40
2) WG Daytona
3) SS Sub

Currently at 2, but 3 (maybe 4 hehehe) would be my max. I’ll definitely reach a point where I need a bit of difference in brands. Would probably go PP after 3.

Three work for me for now it's my Daytona, SD4K, and ExpII. These all fit my smallish wrist and allow me a special PM piece, one for active water sports, and one incognito piece perfect for travel.

Just count how many angels fit on the head of a pin. That's what they told me at Rolex.
