I really like Tudor history and their watches both vintage and new.

I used to own a Tudor BB GMT but the date bug bit me and I exchanged it for Rolex GMT Master II 16710.

The Tudors that I kept and enjoy very much are the two tone Tudor 7017/3 ("Jumbo") and Tudor 76200 with the "California dial".
I love both watches and would not hesitate to get another Tudor down the road. The vintage Submariners with snowflake hands is The Tudor Watch to get. Another Tudor which I see in my future is the Pelagos LHD.

It's not necessary to have a Tudor to complete any collection. I've only 2 and they definitely see a lot of wrist time. First time I laid my eyes on the blue Pelagos, I was already in love. Go with your gut.

Tudor must have

For modern Tudor, the North Flag is hands down my favorite. Unique yet distinctively Tudor.

With regard to FWIW. If brand recognition and perceived value is your watch collecting mantra, don’t bother with a Tudor. You will never understand its appeal.

From my perspective the original THBBR and the short lived THBBN are the ones that spurred the reinterest in the brand. The R was modeled after an older piece which originally had a black bezel which had aged to red. The N (bottom photo) had a very short production run with the ETA movement before the inhouse movement was introduced. It was likely the most collectible Tudor of modern vintage. Below was my Tudor collection.

I would say from a collectibility standpoint it would be blue Subs, big block chronos with the panda dials and Rolex marked casebacks, and the Monte Carlo chrono which is probably the holy grail. Also any true military-issue models. In modern Tudors, Pelagos RHD possible future collectible, and Black Black ETA movement with the "smile" dial and black bezel, which I believe was produced for less than a year. Black Bay Harrods might also be a good longterm pick.

I own the BB heritage but the 'icon' has to be the BB58 imo.

I would take this, but from a cost perspective is in Rolex territory...

If you you don’t mind the aesthetics of titanium then Pelagos. Second would be the BB GMT or 58

I really want to like some of these, and I do appreciate the history of the brand, but that damned snowflake hour hand completely ruins it for me. Every one.

The vintage subs are awesome, so it's a shame that these really nice looking watches would all use the same weird snowflake hand. I can understand one watch having it, or maybe two, but every one in their line up?

I have these two along with a few Rolex models. The Tudor Submariner may well be my favourite watch.

There are some incredible watches in the BB line. I personally love the green of the Harrods BB bezel-the best looking green sub made today, IMO.

Also in the running would be the Pelagos and GMT. Two fantastic watches that punch way above their weight in any category: looks, performance, comfort, you name it. I love the Pelagos so much I recently added the blue to my LHD.

However, the real takeaway here is that there are no real 'must haves.' Watches that I'm in love with should have no bearing on what you own and wear. There are 'must haves' mentioned here all the time that I wouldn't own or wear under any circumstance.

In other words, the only person you have to please is yourself. Good luck.

Two really nice Tudor watches are the Pelagos (think vastly improved/updated Rolex Submariner at half the cost), and the BB58, which are hugely popular for many reasons.
Really, Tudors are great watches. Everybody should have one.
I think you forgot the Tudor Black Shield which was discontinued in 2020. It's a 3 dial housed in ceramic case.

Since purchased new in early 2019, the BB GMT has become my favorite watch I've ever owned. Love my other current watches but the BB GMT is the one I'd pick as my one & only.
